Don’t buy a used car from Wilde Honda without an independent inspection. Over $20,000 of repairs needed in the first 6 months of ownership for a vehicle that isn’t drivable. Either Wilde Honda did a really poor inspection, or they were willing to sell a deep flowed vehicle to an unsuspecting customer. We live 2 hours away, so when we had some issues on the way home, we just had our local repair ship fix then – trim falling off, passenger door handle coming apart, serpentine belt replacement ($528). A week later, the lift gate strut broke slamming the hatchback down (the hydraulic pistons were both heavily corroded). Back lift gate is no longer functional (parts on national backorder). A month later, we tried to use the air conditioning for the first time and it didn’t work. A compressor pump needed to be replaced, plus a transmission fluid leak was discovered and a micro-V belt had to be replaced ($1399.27 for that trip). 2 months after that, the check engine check light came on – code read as emissions and was reset. On 9/28/23 while driving the exhaust system because very loud. We took the vehicle to our local shop immediately. The exhaust system was heavily corroded and needs major repairs. We asked the shop to do a full inspection of the vehicle before proceeding with the exhaust repairs. This is when we found the full extent of the horror… The transmission was showing multiple codes for Jerk/Shudder and needs to be replaced. The intake manifold isn’t functioning. The catalytic converter is broken. Wilde Honda later Estimated those repairs at $18,848.48. When we brought these issues to the attention of Wilde Honda’s general manager Peter Bothe, their initial response was that they would tow the vehicle to auction and would give use whatever it sold for ($2000?) toward another vehicle purchase at Wilde Honda. The used car manager (Brent Totten) also told us that legally the vehicle only needs to function until it leaves the lot – if only we had known their attitude toward their cars BEFORE our purchase. After numerous failed attempts to talk to Peter Bothe, my wife and I were able to speak to him on the phone. He suggested bringing the vehicle to Wilde Honda and having someone from the service team inspect the vehicle and see if they could make the repairs for a reasonable cost – which turned out to be 18,848.84 (not including the lift gate). Their final offer to use was to trade in the vehicle and get $2500 toward another vehicle at Wilde Honda. If a proper inspection had been performed on this vehicle a majority of these issues would have been known. Either Wilde Honda didn’t do a proper inspection, or they did know about these issues and decided to sell this vehicle to us anyway. Do you want to buy a vehicle from a dealership that won’t stand behind their products? More

I had a lot of trouble getting a meeting with the finance department and had to go as far as contacting the general manager. I would highly recommend buying from here but being more cautious if you want to finance from there. More

Just got my third lease from Scott Jensen and once again was blown away with the detailed product knowledge and excellent experience. Recently however, we had a baby & I needed a bigger car. The Subaru Ascent was hard to fine post pandemic. What’s a mum to do? We started our search…mini van perhaps? My husband started this fateful day saying “we are NOT leaving this car lot with a new car, we are JUST looking”. Sure I said, no worries. We window shopping. Devin greeted us, and after some discussion he showed us an Odyssey. My husband was not in love… I liked it; but it didn’t have my AWD that I had come to love. Devin was great; usually I’m well prepared & I know what I want. This time, I wasn’t as sure. He said he thought he had the perfect car for us. He pulled out a Honda Pilot…I’ve never heard of it. We went for a test drive and my husband was immediately in love & so was I. It had 3 row seating, ample trunk space, AWD, and extra amenities that I had never thought I needed and now adore. LOL we ended up buying the Pilot that day. (So much for window shopping). The experience of buying the car went smooth. As far as a good deal goes, Honda took care of us. I did not feel taken advantage of, and Devin was really nice. We love our new car! Thank you Devin & Wilde east Honda! More
