Mr. Batiuk, First off, we apologize that you did not find your service experience with us satisfactory. In regards to your statement about our technician spending only 20 minutes on your vehicle, we have reviewed this with our tech and found that he indeed spent the full 0.8 hours working on your vehicle. When programming the fobs and keys, the majority of work is done at a computer, not actually directly beside the vehicle, hence why you only saw him at your vehicle for approximately 20 minutes. There was also extra time required because: 1. The receiver was not working to begin with and we had to go through the process of troubleshooting and resolving the issue. 2. The third party keys fobs you provided us are not through our regular chain of supply and sometimes they can cause issues during programming and take more time. We made sure to communicate to you that we were running into an issue with your receiver not working in the vehicle and that we may need more time to diagnose the issue. Fortunately we were able to program the two fobs and come in under the 1 hour that John had quoted to you before we started the work. As for the second key, we were only trying to follow the instructions you gave us as you had stated that you intended to program that key yourself. John did mention to you that it was not self programmable. We apologize if there was miscommunication here. Car nut responded

Hi Peter, At no time was I told that self programming was not possible on this car, that is why I stated that the adviser doesn't know his product and if he is saying he said something he`s not telling the truth and I`ll say it right to his face. I have 10 cars 8 of them GM's 6 of them with keyless entry, some are self programmable and I know some are not. I have been working on cars since I was 13 and have friends who work at dealerships and for you to tell me that double dipping by mechanics doesn't happen I sorry but I don`t believe you. I watched through the glass in your showroom and from the alley where the overhead door is so I had a pretty good view of the shop area and my car. I put myself through school working on other peoples cars so I know enough to be dangerous and have some idea of how long certain jobs take. When I came to your shop Saturday I was told 0.5Hrs like the people at Wolfe told me $ 85.00 this is why I booked an appointment as my son works on the southside and I thought it would be easier for me to get the car and bring it to a SS dealer rather than going to the west end. As soon as I arrived the time I was originally told doubled before we even started and yes I was told about the receiver and gave the go ahead to investigate further but how much time does it take to disconnect and reconnect the connectors, this to me would be part of the programming process as I`m sure it`s not the only receiver that has needed this reset. Each of the 2 times I spoke to John the first words out of his mouth were ``we`ll have to charge you more``, to be honest this really turned me off and made me feel I came to the wrong place even more than when I arrived and first spoke to John, it felt like I was being taken right from the get go. I was into it for almost 150.00 at that point what makes you think if I was told that the key could not be self programmed that I wouldn`t give the go ahead for that also and pay even more as John would say. That being said how hard would have it been for the Tech to just do it when he was hooked up, the extra key was on the memory 2 fob which he had. So now I have to go somewhere and pay more to have a stupid extra key programmed so if my son locks himself out we have a spare. I know GM didn`t do such a good job putting this model together but I have no problem working on the problem children of this corporation as I can usually fix my cars myself and not need dealership service. I typically only use service shops for tire changes and wheel alignments and thing like this. I got this as a summer car for my middle son and was just trying to get everything in order so he could enjoy it before returning to University in the fall. If this key had been programmed while I was there we wouldn`t be having this discussion at all. I still would have felt I was over charged but would have left satisfied that things were working.
