NEVER VISIT THIS PLACE UNLESS YOU LIKE GETTING RIPPED OFF
I have owned 3 Volvos in our lifetime and this place has given such bad service that it has ruined our overall view of Volvo. On a number of occasions we have felt like they were getting taking advantiage of by overcharging and creating more work for billing. Dispite this, we continued our blind support of this service location, thinking it was quality products and service you can rely on. Our most recent visit has put us over the edge and I will never be returning. It actually makes us debate owning a Volvo at all.
I purchased a new battery from this location and had it installed at a cost far higher than any other quote elsewhere. Again, doing this was because we thought we trusted the quality. Our old battery was 7 years old and had run its course. We had no electrical issues at any point.
Flash 3 months forward, we travelled to the US and had to park our car for a week. Upon return, our battery was completely dead. We were forced to call AAA to boost us, at our own cost. I would say we left nothing on in the car, but this wouldn't matter anyhow, as the battery would have charged while driving (unless it was the alternator). We drove for an hour or so with no issues in performance before needing gas. When we turned off the car, it was again dead. We had to call AAA for a second time, at our own cost. This time we drove for a few hours toward home (Canada).
These hours charged the battery enough that it could start, however we were then having electrical issues (no radio, mirrors wont retract, Ext), none which existed before.
I immediately took the car back to Volvo Villa in Vaughan, Ontario to assist. They never advised of a $199 inpection fee when we spoke virbally but inserted it in the fine print of the bill I signed. My fault for not reading the paperwork before signing it (shame on me for trusting them). I accept that fault.
It gets worse, they tried to say that the issue was pre-existing and that I will need to pay an additional $700 for them to do a diagnostic test before determining how much more to charge us to fix the issue.
When I informed them that I had no issues (ever) prior to their installation of the battery, they met me with confrontation. They then refused to assist (even though the warrenty was valid), unless I paid further. I have had numorus experiences where I felt that they were taking advantage of us but continued to come believing this was the best for our vehicle. I "was" as loyal of a Volvo customer as could be, buying multiple Volvo's and having service done at this location, despite all of this. However, this most recent experience has absolutely put us over the edge.
I asked for my car to be returned and I will never visit this location for any service again.
I have left the place where I overpaid for a battery to be installed (under warranty) with no prior issues and now have a slew of electical issues to deal with on my own, or I can agree to pay their ransom for work caused by their negligence.
I would warn all of you, unless you like getting taken advantage of or having work done that will create more service visits, then you should stay clear away from here.
I will be considering finally moving on from Volvo all together.
Now they may not care about one lowly customer but if I can save at least one person from getting scammed at this place, I will have done my job.
