In the spring of 2024 I was looking to upgrade to a much more posh yet offroad capable vehicle that I could use in almost any environment and condition. I was also in a rush as my vehicle at the time was at the end of it's life cycle and was becoming unsafe to operate on a daily basis. I found myself interested in the full size Range Rover. I found a 2013 Range Rover Autobiography at Jaguar Land Rover Richmond with an Orkney Grey exterior and black interior. I contacted Jaguar Land Rover Richmond via their website to inquire about in-house financing. I received a call the next day from Junwon Choi. I made it clear that in order for the sale to proceed I needed to be approved for financing, I needed my vehicle to be accepted as a trade-in and I needed all of this done before the end of the week. My first discussion with Junwon was on a Tuesday. By Wednesday I had forwarded my credit score, SIN, monthly expenses, employment history and all relevant information to allow for an expedited approval for financing. From that point forward I received absolutely no contact from Junwon. I followed up with a text message that was unanswered. The weekend went by, I had to spend money on additional repairs on my vehicle to keep it road worthy and I never received contact again from Junwon until the week after. By then it did not make sense for me to purchase a new vehicle as I spent enough time and money repairing my current vehicle to last me into the summer. I had lost interest in proceeding with the purchase, and Junwon continued to contact me several times to re-establish a sale. His excuse was he was off for some time and was away from his phone. This was a lazy excuse coming from a high end dealership selling imported luxury vehicles. What Junwon should have done was inform me that he would be off for some time and pass the process to one of his colleagues rather than have me wait and waste time without any knowledge of my approval for financing.
On top of that, I received an email from the general manager Jordan Peterson several weeks later inquiring about what they could have done to make the sale and to see if there was any customer service breakdown. I returned the email to Jordan informing him that I did everything on my part to make the sale as my interest was genuine, and Jaguar Land Rover Richmond simply was not motivated. I expected a response from Jordan, at least a "thank you" or some acknowledgement as this feedback formed a basis for him to teach his sales staff to try harder but I received nothing. Feedback from potential or lost clients is always a means to improve, but given that I did not receive any response at all from the general manager of Jaguar Land Rover Richmond shows that the entire staff lacks professionalism. I am almost in disbelief that a high end marque treats potential clients this way. Perhaps if I was interested in a new 2024 Range Rover SV I would have had better treatment, or perhaps the sales and administration staff need retraining. I have purchased vehicles from small, independent car dealerships in my past that had far more professionalism than Jaguar Land Rover Richmond. This dealership is not worthy of the Jaguar Land Rover brand.
