Disappointed with Service received today. While Toyota's recommended "Service 1" is mostly just an inspection and up-sell opportunity for dealerships, more so than a real service appointment; While Toyota's recommended "Service 1" is mostly just an inspection and up-sell opportunity for dealerships, more so than a real service appointment; unfortunately it's required if you want to ensure you stay in their good books and remain covered for the life of your warranty period. Based on my experience at the dealership earlier today, I'm not sure that even the most basic checks were performed. After I arrived home following my appointment I was able to find a few issues with their "service". 1. Some of the lights on my vehicle do not work despite a note of "All Lights [...] Working Properly" 2. Toyota has an active safety recall listed on my vehicle, this was not noted or mentioned to me during this "service". While Toyota is still awaiting an official fix for this issue, I would think that at least mentioning a pending recall/pre-notice listing "Potential Risk of Vehicle Fire" would be something that should be discussed/shared with a customer. 3. Based on the other issues I noticed, I'm doubtful that my tires were rotated, and I am awaiting a reply from the service department to learn what the measurements were when they "noted tread depth" during their inspection. 4. I'm not sure if this is a pro or a con... I'm still on the fence with this one. My cabin air filter contains enough debris that it should likely be replaced. I'm annoyed they didn't note or mention this, but I'm happy they didn't try to up-sell me on an overpriced (parts and labour) charge to pressure me into having them replace it. More
