39 minutes agoNEW I am very disappointed with Whitby Oshawa Honda. My overall experience was POOR. Salesperson: 4/5 (personable, good product knowledge but lacks communication) Management: 0/5 (dur Oshawa Honda. My overall experience was POOR. Salesperson: 4/5 (personable, good product knowledge but lacks communication) Management: 0/5 (during the initial trade in process my wife and I were not acknowledged at all, attempts to maximize profit rather than creating/keeping a relationship and very unprofessional. Below is the reason for my ratings above. I had a contract signed mid-December which was to trade-in my Palisade for a Civic. The contract did indicate a re-appraisal at time of delivery. With the inventory shortage I patiently waited for the call for the delivery. 3-months later I get the call to come in (March 5th) since they are expecting my Civic to arrive shortly. My salesperson Daniel A. presented the new trade-in offer which was $2,000 below their original offer. Noting that I've paid over $2,200 in the last 3-months. There has also been no change in my Palisade's condition with the exception of an additional 1500 kms. There are only 6 other Palisades exactly like mine on sale within 100 km radius of the dealership. Comparable Palisades in the Ultimate trim are selling between $58,000-$61,000 which did not change since the time I was provided my original trade-in offer. I was obviously livid and insulted with the low ball offer so I requested them to go higher and they came back with $500 more. It was clear that they wanted to play games so I demanded multiple times to see the Sales Manager (Trevor Carew) that was making the offer. He finally came to discuss his offer. I presented the same information mentioned above regarding my Palisade's value. He dismissed all the research that I had done and continued with his reasoning for his offer. He mentioned that he is going to sell my Palisade to an auction since it wasn't going to sell which is not accurate based on the number of Palisade Ultimates available in the market. The discussion got heated and we mutually agreed to terminate the sales contract. On the way to the payment desk he (Trevor Carew) kept on staring me down as if he wanted to fight me. I indicated for him to stay away and go away during the process. He didn't like being told this so he pointed his finger at me and shouted "don't talk to me like that". I eventually got my deposit back but I will never go back to Whitby Oshawa Honda for any type of sales or service. A few things to note when dealing with this dealership. Their calculations are off in comparison to the online Honda calculator. I asked the difference (in my case there was a $22 bi-weekly difference in the payment amounts) and no one could explain or take the time to explain this to me. When trading in make a point of emphasis on any extras you spent to enhance or protect the value of your vehicle (i.e. paint protection film, ceramic coat, etc.). Whitby Oshawa Honda didn't even consider this during their evaluation for my trade. I believe things happen for a reason. I was able to connect with Clarington Honda on March 5th and they happen to have the Civic Touring I was looking to buy. I came in March 7th and the deal was completed within 20 minutes. My payments are lower and I take possession of my Civic this Thursday. The experience between the two dealerships was night and day! Clarington Honda is family run and you can tell they value creating meaningful and long lasting relationships with their customers. No thank you Whitby Oshawa Honda! Thank you Clarington Honda! More

I got great help from Suhail (Sales Specialist), Ashley (Financial Services Manager), and Fara (Delivery Coordinator) who came together to help me acquire my new car. My wife and I purchased a 2020 Passport Touring in June 2021. There were no photos available online but I was sent some low-resolution cell phone photos. I worked with Nicholas McPherson for the sale. At n 2021. There were no photos available online but I was sent some low-resolution cell phone photos. I worked with Nicholas McPherson for the sale. At no point did he advise the vehicle had any damage, instead indicating it was in excellent condition. We were coming from 1.5 hours away during a lockdown, so we wanted to make sure everything was in order for vehicle pick up on June 30th. When we arrived at the dealership to pick up the vehicle, the only Passport in the lot that matched our description had instantly-noticeable paint damage to the passenger side front fender and bumper as well as both side mirrors had noticeable paint transfer. On the fender/bumber area it appeared that a scratch repair was attempted and completely botched, buffing through both clear coat and some paint. At this point, we should have just walked away (I even said this to my wife), as this was foreshadowing for the rest of our dealings with Whitby Oshawa Honda. I pointed out the damage to Nicholas immediately when taking the vehicle out for a test drive and he said, "oh, don't worry about that, I'll take care of you. I'll set you up with someone close to where you live to get it fixed so you don't have to drive all the way back out here." After we took the car home, I followed up with an email to Nicholas, the same day thanking him for his help with the purchase. He did not respond. I followed up for the following 4 MONTHS via phone calls and emails. I requested to speak to a manager and received a phone call back from Trevor Carew with a promise of a follow up with a resolution. The follow up never occurred from Trevor. I was successfully able to get a hold of Nicholas one time in August (after blocking my caller ID) and he reassured me he was taking care of it, however, again, nothing was done. I continued to try to connect with Nicholas off and on, to no avail. I would call the dealership to confirm he was working, they would say they could see him at his desk, transfer my call over, and it would go to voicemail. I ended up speaking to a receptionist in October that tried to track Nicholas down for a call back, but again, he never called me back. The receptionist, obviously annoyed at Nicholas' severe lack of follow up or customer service skills, escalated the situation to a manager (Iftikhar), who also never actually called me back but referred the issue to a service specialist, Sarah. At this point, it was mid to late October, 4 months after purchasing the vehicle. Sarah put me in contact with a vendor in my area to repair the paint on November 11, 2021. WARNING: If you are planning on purchasing a vehicle at Whitby Oshawa Honda, do yourself a favour and don't. Or be prepared for a significant lack of post-sales support and indifference to the customer. If they promise you something, get it in writing before purchasing. Be prepared to hold them accountable to their promises, as management clearly does not feel it pertinent to manage their sales people's performance. You shouldn't need to threaten to report the dealership to OMVIC for help. Trevor Carew, Iftikhar Khaliq, and Nicholas McPherson collectively made this the single worst purchasing decision we have ever made. There is no care or courtesy when it comes to client-centric service, or post-sales support at this dealership. I wasted hours sending emails, making phone calls, and trying to get someone to call me back to get this situation resolved. It finally took one of the reception staff to take this situation on personally to get a resolution. If they have a vehicle you want, go to another dealership and buy it there. You will NOT receive the service you deserve as a customer at Whitby Oshawa Honda. Read the other sub-5-star reviews, it's despicable that my review is not the first of its kind. In hindsight, I should have waited to purchase the vehicle from a dealership that legitimately cares. As a side note, you shouldn't be coerced in to leaving a 5 star review on the day you are picking up your vehicle. More
