I am a VW fan! I have bought 5 VWs since 2000, 4 of them from Clarkdale Motors on Main Street in Vancouver. Last time I purchased a new Rabbit in 2008 I worked with an agent called Melrose Chang. She ha from Clarkdale Motors on Main Street in Vancouver. Last time I purchased a new Rabbit in 2008 I worked with an agent called Melrose Chang. She has since left Clarkdale. I was most impressed when the person in charge of determining the cost of the trade-in came to me and explained in detail how he had arrived at his assessment. At that time, since this was the third VW I had purchased from Clarkdale, they treated me royally! I had ordered only the 1 CD disk changer but, free of charge, they gave me a 6 disk changer. In addition, Melrose gave me a lovely basket of cosmetics when I picked up my car. This time my experience was somewhat different. My agent was Lucas Beck. The way in which the trade-in value for the car was determined was not made clear to me and I had to argue for $200 more. Subsequently I had some difficulties with being asked to pay for a car in Cranbrook which had rear-airbags, a feature that I did not need ($400), and for the shipping costs of this car to Vancouver ($400). I was told that the extra $200 for the trade-in had removed all the profit for the car. This I could scarecely believe. My Rabbit had been driven only 2 1/2 years and had only 16,500 KM on it. There was dent in the front right but I had had an estimate of $500 for fixing this. Subsequent to these events, my experience became very positive. Lucas Beck located exactly the car I had ordered. It was prepared in good time. No extras or royal treatment this time!! But I did not expect anything. Lucas Beck is a very good salesman. He knows his product very well. He took time to show me every feature of the car before I left Clarkdale. As before, I will continue to use Clarkdale for my service needs. I look forward to my next VW!
