The experience we had with the sales person, the people who did the delivery run down of the car and the "second delivery", the service department where we picked up extras and the person who did ICBC registration paperwork with us was excellent. However the finance person dropped the ball and then the dealership in general repeatedly failed to correct the problem to a point beyond poor service and which should never happen. The finance person interrupted when I was asking questions so it hard to get all the information. She mostly ignored me while focusing on wife, perhaps guessing that she would be easier to sell to. We bought the car jointly but the paperwork was mostly wrongly done in just my wife's name. Our address was wrong on the paperwork for the Extended Warranty and the Total Loss Program. There were several other miscellaneous errors such as the quoted interest rate not matching repayment plan. We were pressured to buy the optional Total Loss Program since we were not told we had seven days to buy rather than needing to make an on the spot decision. We were told that cancelling was very simple and could be done within the first two months. Once home I figured out that the Total Loss Program was over priced for the coverage it offered and we cancelled it a couple of days later. The cancellation paperwork was not sent to the third party provider for the program. I followed up one month later when the refund hadn't been sent and a second payment had been charged to our credit card and was told that it would be sorted out. Another month went by and still no refund. It turned out a cheque had been sent to the wrong address. We were told that a credit card refund had been processed and a credit would show up on our card any day. That turned out not to be true. A third month went by and still no refund. A second cheque had been sent to a second wrong address. Finally after three months a cheque arrived. During this process I was told on three occasions by three different managers including the general manager that they were going to personally make sure the problem was resolved. Each time we were just left waiting again. We had been pressured to give a five start review through being told that for VW only five stars good enough and any reason for not giving five stars should be brought to the dealership first. In the end VW sales review link we had been emailed had expired by the time the sales process was complete in our minds. More

I visited a number of dealerships while deciding on make & model and certainly experienced a few salespeople talking down to me or telling me what I should want in a car... pretty annoying to deal with as a single woman. But Kong was respectful, asked me questions and actually listened to the answers without exerting a lot of pressure. I came in knowing what I was looking for and I'm happy with the result. Cristina in finance was incredibly informative -- she's also high energy which I found a bit overwhelming given how the coverage options are presented. But all in all... got what I needed. More

Unfortunately Kong was unable to help with viewing and testing other vehicles since he was involved in another sale when I arrived. He passed me on to work with Tharsan on finding a vehicle that might work. Tharsan shower us a couple of similar vehicles although they were more expensive (due to additional features that I wasn't particularly looking for). Ultimately Tharsan was able to assist me in finding a price comparable to the original car I had come in to see and along with Trevor we were able to get me into my lightly used and previously loved 2013 Jetta. Ultimately after dealing with financing where you are gently pressured into additional coverage for significant extra costs I was sent through to one of the most efficient ICBC insurance providers just off of their upstairs lounge. Within a couple of minutes my insurance was transferred and I returned downstairs where Kong was able to help me into my new car as it was Tharsan's turn to be involved with another sales meeting. Overall it was a good experience aside from a few glitches in car availability and realistically I don't think I could expect too much more from friendliness or general positive attitude of the staff on the given day I was at Clarkdale VW. More

As a consumer I knew what i wanted, what i wanted to pay for it and nowhere did i get the honesty that Kong and the staff at Clarkdale provided me with.
