A couple of days later we decided we wanted to buy back our o We purchased a 2016 VW Beetle convertible at Clarkdale Motors trading in our old Beetle. A couple of days later we decided we wanted to buy back our old Beetle as it already had a trailer hitch and we were advised not to put one on the new Beetle. They agreed to let us buy it back but charged used us $695.00 DOC fee plus insisted they had to do a vehicle inspection as well before we could buy it back. That was an additional $175.00. When we went to pay they had added the DOC fee to the price of the car, then tried to charge us the DOC fee again plus the inspection fee. We noticed that and they removed the one DOC fee but still charged us the one DOC and inspection fee. This was ridiculous as they were making us sign a "as is" clause to buy our old car back. As for the inspection, we question this too. Just another way to make money serving no purpose to the customer. Four glaring things were missed in the inspection, a broken window switch on the passenger door, a chip in the windshield, a broken bolt on the passenger door that keeps the door open. The fourth more glaring oversight was an engine light that was on reported as only “would need more investigation” to determine the cause. The report also found fault with the battery, new within the last 10 months. Snow tires on the back were reported as “different model tires”. Then there was signs of moisture in trunk, we had just shampooed the carpet.We emailed the owner with our concerns and he did not even bother to answer us. The next day we ran into Christina Duncan who after listening to our issues took charge of the situation and made sure we got our DOC fee back the very next day! Christina was an excellent advocate for us and we would certainly recommend doing business with her again! More
