The opposite of a typical car dealership I bought my first car (ever!) earlier today at Clarkdale VW and the experience I had was incredible. I have never posted a Yelp review, but Clarkdale is more than deserving of a five-star review. After a very frustrating experience at another dealership (involving some terrible customer service from the sales and business managers), I called Clarkdale looking to see what they had in stock for my target car (2016 VW Golf trendline). I spoke to Brendan who was friendly, helpful, and professional. He set up a meeting for me with Adam, the assistant sales manager, who I met with later that day to discuss a deal. Given my bad experience with the first dealership, I was not at all excited to start the process all over again. Adam took all my worries away the moment we started talking. On top of making my first car buying experience as fun and painless as possible, Adam honoured the deal that the previous dealership had signed (and then rescinded due to an error on their part). Even when we found out the car I had my eye on had been sold that morning, Adam went above and beyond by rush ordering me another car to be ready for pick-up the next day. Thank you again, Adam. Wayne, the business manager we dealt with, made the actual financing of the car really easy. He's a genuinely nice guy and very professional. He offered a low-pressure environment from beginning to end and took the time to explain every little detail of the deal to me and answer all my questions. Denis, the GM, stopped in as well (when he brought Wayne some lunch - aw), and I really felt that I was taken care of and that I had made the right decision to go with Clarkdale. Noel, Clarkdale's in-house insurance broker, followed suit in being low-pressure, informative, and great to deal with. The finishing touch of an already great experience was Patrick, the delivery specialist, who gave me a full tour of my new car and explained everything to me (with an awesome sense of humour). He added in some (impartial) car-care advice as well. Brendan also came out to say hello and congratulate me on my new car! I always heard that buying a car (and everything involved with it) is a long, difficult, and frustrating process all around (and it certainly would have been if I had stayed with the first dealership). With Clarkdale, it is the complete opposite. The process turned out to be a lot of fun and I left with my dream car (at my desired price point) and a huge smile on my face. Clarkdale really delivers on their promise to be a customer focused dealership. Their team of people are amazing, and I could not be happier to have bought my first car from them. I had a great experience with Richard, and it was best experience I had at a dealership in the past 2 weeks while looking for which car I would be purchasing. Richard is incredibly knowledgeable and really showed me the ins and outs of the car and all of its unique features. He was also very friendly and able to answer all the questions I threw at him. I would recommend asking for Richard if you are looking to get a new car at Clarkdale Motors! I also met with Trevor Scheidl who helped finalize which model I would end up with and was friendly enough to throw in a couple goodies with the car! Overall I had a great experience at this dealership. More

He called and texted and even let me take a car home for the night to try out. One day Brendan even brought a car to my work for me to look at. When I picked up the car I was shown all the details of the electronics and everything else. I love my new GTI and was extremely happy with the service. Thank you all at Clarkdale Margo More
Empty promises and passing the buck!!! I am extremely disappointed with Clarkdale. Over 4 months ago I bought a Touareg with extended warranty etc costing just under $85,000. At the time th I am extremely disappointed with Clarkdale. Over 4 months ago I bought a Touareg with extended warranty etc costing just under $85,000. At the time there was a seat mechanism that they had ordered and they told me they would contact me when it was in. I kid you not we have called over 7 times and spoke to at least 5 people from parts to sales to service to even management and still haven't received any information regarding this part or when it will be in and fixed. We get the old, "leave it with me and I will get right back to you on that". During this time we also had our car serviced which cost $700 with a complimentary vacuum and car wash. The condition of the car was worse when we picked it up! For $700 they should actually put in the effort to clean it! I used to regularly service my Jetta over 10 years ago but now this business is just after money and not customer satisfaction. I wonder how long they can carry on this way without losing customers. It would be great if someone could shed light on this seat mechanism situation for me. More

Genuinely Caring and Honest People I went to a few other VW dealerships before coming to Clarkdale. I was constantly given unappealing and unreasonable prices from salespersons who ins I went to a few other VW dealerships before coming to Clarkdale. I was constantly given unappealing and unreasonable prices from salespersons who insisted that they were giving me a "fair price" when in reality they were quoting me numbers 3,000-4,000 dollars above the MSRP. When I entered Clarkdale, the sales associate, Kong, was kind, approachable, and extremely knowledgeable about the 2016 VW Jetta. He was upfront, to the point, and provided me with a quote that blew the other competitors out of the water - even before I told him the other prices. I was very impressed with his honesty - he promised to find me the best deal possible. I was also pleased to find that all of his coworkers were also very kind people. Other dealerships told me to come back and they would match the prices offered to me by Clarkdale, but I knew that the service and honesty which I received at this dealership could not be matched anywhere else. I opted out of going to any other dealerships later that week and bought my new 2016 Jetta the next day. Kudos to the team at Clarkdale. You've won over my trust and respect. Thanks again for going the extra mile to make sure I was satisfied with my connectivity package. More

They made me feel valued as a client, and made the whole process a positive one :)! Thanks guys. From start to finish in financing was flawless. Listened to my needs and helped cater sales accordingly, versus arbitrarily choosing a car and trying to get me to buy that one. Other dealerships have either been very wrong about what I wanted (despite us having an extensive conversation about the kind of engine and horsepower, etc) or offered little advice/information outside of the specs of the vehicle. In this case, when I asked for Devin's opinion, he shared it and taught me a lot about what to consider and be attentive to, beyond what was relevant to the sale. It was not a high-pressure situation when I was buying. I felt fine to either buy or walk away; it felt up to me. They were willing to negotiate. Overall, there was a sense of working together to make the deal versus us having to shark against each other. Regardless of to what extent there were simply excellent sales techniques going on, I didn't mind because the experience was comfortable. Ultimately, you don't want to leave feeling like you got taken advantage of or are not getting what you want; there was none of that here. Thanks team. Happy to be part of the Clarkdale family. Constructive criticism: A good idea to discuss the protection packages BEFORE making the deal, so you can consider them. Several packages were suddenly mentioned to me ($50/mo per month for this and that coverage), but it would have been better to explain these to me earlier so I could think about what I wanted. It is challenging to consider whether these things are worth it right on the spot. Other dealerships have given me a heads up about the options, and that was appreciated. More

They were professional yet down to earth and easy to deal with...there was no high pressure sales or add ons...although they were offered. Hope their after sales care is as excellent an experience as the purchasing was. Highly recommend dealing with Clarkdale. More
