My experience with this dealership was exceptionally unsatisfactory. On the day of vehicle delivery, the dealership pressured us into agreeing to additional services like paint and interior protectio unsatisfactory. On the day of vehicle delivery, the dealership pressured us into agreeing to additional services like paint and interior protection, undercoating, and rust protection by adding additional $3000 to the bill what came as a surprise They stated, “If you do not pay, we will not sell you the car.” When we pushed back, we were told, “It can't be removed; it is already completed.” It was clear to us that none of the work was done as the vehicle was dirty from transport, and the interior showed signs of mishandling by delivery truck driver. During our three-month waiting period before the purchase, we were not informed of these additional charges. The pressure tactics occurred just before we were set to take possession. When I asked to see the undercoating that was "already done", the salesman, Sunil, pointed to a factory-installed fender liner as their undercoating which was another insult. After we highlighted that the work was obviously not done, the manager eventually agreed to remove the paint and interior protection fees, leaving us with $1,400 for rust protection and undercoating, which was also not completed, we had no choice but to pay or loose the deal. The staff lacked professionalism in disclosing these costs and misrepresented the work done on the vehicle. Additionally, the dealership damaged the car while installing a block heater, then try to hide this damage with touch up pen (evidenced in the attached photograph). Unfortunately we noticed it immediately after completing payment, resulting in a new Toyota RAV4 estimated to be held for four days for repairs. On our request for compensation for our inability to use the vehicle, the dealership only offered a full tank of fuel, about $50, new cars likely come with 1/4 tank of fuel from factory which was another slap in a face given that the new vehicle was damaged and factory finish was compromised. after that the dealership's approach suggested we can always take refund as they aimed to sell the vehicle to another customer who will not question additional charges. Ultimately, we gladly accepted a refund and left without the vehicle, incurring losses related to insurance, registration, and travel expenses. I also had to take time off work, only to be treated unprofessionally and disrespectfully. I am led to believe this poor practice is their standard for business. After discussing our experience, I've learned many others in this town have faced similar issues with this dealership. It's disheartening to see such shady business practices in a developed nation like Canada, VSABC should look in to such practices closely as this clearly goes against many standards. I hope this helps others understand what to expect when dealing with this dealership, known for its poor reputation in the Kitimat-Terrace area and beyond. More
