Quite possibly the worst experience imaginable buying a vehicle from this dealership. The used car manager Johnny was pushy and difficult to work with. My vehicle took months to be delivered when I was pro vehicle from this dealership. The used car manager Johnny was pushy and difficult to work with. My vehicle took months to be delivered when I was promised the work needed was a simple fix and would take less than a week. When it finally arrived none of the body work I was told would be done was taken care of. The vehicle then had to be picked up again and driven from Hamilton to St. Catharines and back. I requested to at least have the gas covered to have the work done and they couldn't even do that. If you're looking to buy a used vehicle from this location I would strongly recommend you look elsewhere. More

I'm so angry for what they put me through and what I continue to have to put up with. And VW Canada is no help at all. I will never buy another VW despite being a loyal customer, even after their scandal, for almost 20 years. But these guys take the cake giving VW a bad name. VW Canada doesn't seem to care though. No integrity to be found anywhere within this company. The very worst of it is that they could have killed my family when they failed to diagnose a very basic issue with the noise I heard coming from the wheel where I found out shortly after at another garage that the tire was literally ready to blow. The second is that I'm stuck with a car that smells rank and musty due to their multiple failures of doing things properly. I couldn't fit it all into my Google review, so here's some extra tidbits. Shortly after I bought my car, I learned that this kid that was giving me a shuttle ride LEARNED HOW TO DRIVE MANUAL ON MY BRAND NEW CAR WHEN DELIVERING IT FROM TORONTO! Back to the smell, I took it in because the floor was wet, they said it was a common issue with the rear speaker leaking and that sealing it wouldn't work well and that I had to replace a part. I went back to have it fixed, waited a typical hour or two and was re-given the diagnosis! Then the service manager tells me that it can usually be fixed just as well by sealing it and that the part wasn't necessary! I have so many other examples like this, bit I'm too tired of it all to keep going. There's a clunking/creaking noise in the front end that's been there since it was under full warranty that I've probably asked about 10 times in the past 7 years that they've never been able to diagnose. There's so much they did wrong, said they would do that they didn't, lied about doing, made excuses for, blamed others, they were not thorough in their assessments or repairs, their communication is very poor and I don't want this car on my shoulders any more! One might wonder why I kept going back. It's because they did intend to fix their mistakes at their cost, but they kept falling awfully short. And it could've gone on forever, but how many times do I need to drive 40 minutes one way for the same issue? More than 7 apparently. And who pays for my gas and kms and time (so much time considering the hours I would spend in the waiting room each time) to do so? And what does the owner, Marwan, say? "I do know that the team went above and beyond trying to help you out with the issues you had with the Vehicle". No! They only kept promising to fix their mistakes and continued to screw up! I went above and beyond with patience. This place screams incompetence. It's dangerous. I hope people see all these reviews before it's too late and steer clear. The stress they will cause you is not worth it. Buy this car back, Marwan, if you've done such a great job with it, because I won't feel right selling it to anyone and I think you owe me more for it. You take on the burden of fixing it and selling it. I will update this review if he decides to take any pride in his dealership. More
Brought in my car for a corrosion claim (car was still under warranty) in July 2021. The claim was approved by Volkswagen Canada but the dealership never got back to me regarding next steps, updates etc. under warranty) in July 2021. The claim was approved by Volkswagen Canada but the dealership never got back to me regarding next steps, updates etc. I kept calling and going in to inquire about the status of my claim but they kept giving me the same excuses (Covid, claims are backed up, no staff etc). The summer of 2023, I had enough and called Volkswagen Canada for information on my claim. They told me that they had reached out to the dealership soon after the claim was sent and requested more photos two years ago. The dealership never got back to them or to me and sat on this for TWO YEARS! There was no apology, no attempt to rectify the error and certainly no offer to cover the area the claim didn’t cover (even though the car’s condition has now worsened over the 2 years). The dealership’s general manager wrote, “The corrosion claims are handled by the VW stores as courtesy on VW's behalf and the majority of the VW stores are refusing to even accommodate these inspections and repairs due to the issues and frustrations which come up from time to time during these inspections and the claim process.” . In other words, “we couldn’t care less.” Disappointing customer service to say the least. More
Went in to have my running light replaced. Probably took them about 2 1/2 minutes however, they made me sit there and wait for an hour so they could justify charging me $77 in labor. The whole Probably took them about 2 1/2 minutes however, they made me sit there and wait for an hour so they could justify charging me $77 in labor. The whole deal cost me $101 for a freaking light! I will never go back to that place again More
I went to the dealership a few days ago and was quite excited to get myself a new Volkswagen. After walking through the lot and me making service aware that I would like to speak a representative. Unfort excited to get myself a new Volkswagen. After walking through the lot and me making service aware that I would like to speak a representative. Unfortunately, not a single employee was willing to present to me one of the cars despite several of them being clearly available. I left after 30mins and am still surprised why some dealerships want to disgruntle customers based on lacking service / negligence. Only two stars as it is still Volkswagen brand. More
Purchased a vehicle with VW St Catharine’s. Everything was smooth until time of pick up. The car did not come with an owners manual for some reason and we are still waiting on it. They told us Everything was smooth until time of pick up. The car did not come with an owners manual for some reason and we are still waiting on it. They told us the car did not have mats, which when we saw it, it did and to top it off it was not detailed and the gas tank had to be filled as we sat there to pick up the car. We had a family mechanic look it over to ensure everything was okay. To our surprise the catalytic converter had damage to it. We reached out and VW St Catharine’s said they didn’t see anything despite having it certified and safetied and asked us how we even knew what the part is which makes me believe they knew about the issue all along. A week later, we had a family member use the back seat and the seat belt didn’t work. We made an appointment to bring the car in to have the seat belt looked at and they offered to look under the car again. They had 4 service people looking under the car asking us if we had work done. They implied we tampered with the car when we literally JUST purchased the vehicle and we are not welders… We asked how 1. The TAMPERED CATALYTIC CONVERTER and 2. A FAULY SEATBELT would have even passed inspection. We even had to prove our innocence by taking pictures which clearly indicated rust on the weld. Also, a CHILD could literally do up a seatbelt but someone who is doing a safety standard check REGULATED by the Ontario government can’t?? We have tried to work with Volkswagen on this issue…. They will not get us a new part, they offered us a used part which they are going to take off a demo vehicle in their inventory and reinstall our TAMPERED catalytic converter onto respective demo car. They have also blamed us for the issue when we emailed not even 4 days after picking up the vehicle. I am disgusted and disappointed by how I have been treated by this company even after we helped you out when you were short staffed by driving our car to the reserve as I am indigenous. I will be putting a formal complaint into the Performance Auto Group. Everyone, beware of buying an Atlas from this dealership or the Performance Auto Group as you will likely have a faulty/tampered catalytic converter. More
Went to the sale event and must say service and competency were underwhelming to say the least. Dealer didn’t want to hear out my needs albeit I reiterated my needs several times. I had high hopes competency were underwhelming to say the least. Dealer didn’t want to hear out my needs albeit I reiterated my needs several times. I had high hopes driving a Volkswagen for 30+ years, but this dealer will definitely not get my business! There are more experienced dealers out there that will not look at making a quick buck. Not sure how people can conduct business with them?! More
Dealership accused us of wrongdoing despite having our car for 4 days. They accused us of having tampered with the catalytic converter. We had to show pictures which showed rust on the weld to prove innoc car for 4 days. They accused us of having tampered with the catalytic converter. We had to show pictures which showed rust on the weld to prove innocence. Also they did not do a proper safety as they never checked seat belts. In addition, Volkswagen St Catharines wanted to sell the car without mats despite us having them during showings. Certain employees seem to be very young, inexperienced and shady. We bought a car above value and dealership is not willing to compensate for it. They mentioned they would switch catalytic converters from a demo model on their inventory lot and reinstall our tampered catalytic converter onto the respective demo model. Everyone beware of buying an Atlas from Volkswagen St Catharines or the Performance Auto Group. More
