The first encounter with Nicky our salesperson was good, he seemed to be knowledgeable and showed us the vehicle we came to look at. After we put our deposit on the vehicle everything went down hill. Once the vehicle came in our appointments were changed on us 10-20 min before we arrived, living about 45 minutes away this was extremely frustrating. Nicky made 2 other appointments with us at times he wasn't even there, nor did he care to tell anyone we were coming. The evening we came to sign the bill of sale was a waste of time as the information wasn't correct so we had to resign everything a few days later when we picked the vehicle up, again making a separate trip there was a waste of time. I requested extended warranty information from Alex in Finance and never got any prices or information from her. Their only saving grace was Keagan who did our delivery. He was very friendly and took his time explaining everything about the vehicle. He did speak to his manager Chad about our previous experience and we got a free oil change. We appreciated the effort but at that point so much of our time was wasted and disrespected it didn't change our minds about the experience. I personally work at a dealership and fully understand how the process works as I have worked in multiple roles there. I understand that things happen and mistakes are made, but this was pathetic customer service overall. We will definitely not be returning for service work or future purchases. We would recommend Keagan to anyone planning to use the dealership but unfortunately you do have to deal with other people besides him when buying. More

He straight up said to me"no more shopping around, no more games" after I tried to negotiate with him. He refused to refund my downpayment after I decided to back out of the deal. The experience was terrible. Other two dealers in the town gives way better price and I later found out southgate VW has the worst sales among all three dealership. it must be for a reason when considering a rude sales manager and overpriced cars. More

Had work done at local garage that specializes in vw's / ex vow mechanics for way less... Service guy was rude and non caring do not spend your money here... When trying to get your business they promise the moon but when push comes to shove for work they leave you out in the cold.... FYI I have owned two other vw's from another dealer ... Prior to diesel gate which cost them millions and was never treated like this... Way to stand behind your produce xxxxxxxx More

This guy was so rude and he absolutely need classes on how to behave. Said something different on first meet and then when I was questioning over few of his SAID things , this guy changed and started with a whole new chapter. This was second time with this dealership that we experienced same thing . One of our family friend also went through similar scenario. Cmmon Southgate Volkswagen atleast teach your employees to stick on they say !! Just literally worst experience! More
Singlehandedly the worst dealtership I have ever dealt with. Purchased a new 2016 VW Golf R which was okay but the post purchase service is significantly lacking. Holly Unger and Mary Brown washed their hands of me after identifying that I had a Navigation system that was defective from day 1. 14 months after purchasing they told me to call VW Canada because they could not fix it. This was after a combined 20 business days of having my car (two separate occasions). Mary didn't have the VW phone number and said there was nothing Southgate VW could do. I think the issue with Mary is that she just isn't that bright. Holly will not return any phone calls. Having owned several cars from other manufacturers, with this being my first (and last) VW, I was astounded at the sheer incompetence of these two. Avoid at your own peril. By the way - 2 years of ownership and the navigation still does not work. More
Not fully aware of VW cars They didn't know that Golf R is all wheel drive. 2 days ago I took my car for the regular service, and because I have hit a pothole weeks ago , and I They didn't know that Golf R is all wheel drive. 2 days ago I took my car for the regular service, and because I have hit a pothole weeks ago , and I purchased with the car the Extra platinum coverage for tires, I asked the dealer to check my tire and replace it if needed. They did replace one tire only and after I left the dealer a message came up in the car saying PRESSURE LOSS DETECTED. So I took the car to workshop which he checked all the tires, didn’t find any nails, holes or difference in the air pressure between the four tires, the only difference was in the thread. I read the manual that came with the car and it says, all 4 tires should be of same thread and we shouldn’t change one tire only at time because it is All wheel drive. So I went back to the dealer showed them the manual and a technician there told me it is NOT All wheel drive. I asked them why that message appeared in the car after changing one tire and the car manual says we shouldn’t change one single tire at time, they said they don’t know why this message came More

Sales manager very throat cut and rude, threatened lawyers. Sales manager threatened me with his lawyers and managers when I changed my mind on a car, felt forced into signing a 1000$ nonrefundable deposit or t Sales manager threatened me with his lawyers and managers when I changed my mind on a car, felt forced into signing a 1000$ nonrefundable deposit or they would not give same price next day. Plus I was 8 months pregnant at time and emotional. Would not recommend this dealership. Issues with extra key and car starter, do not give extra key, say second key goes under hood. Car had to go to another shop to fix car starter issues. Dealership said no warranty on car starter if it causes problems in future with vehicles electrical. Price changed when I sat to deal with extra fees they wanted for admin cost, 3m paint, car starter, very misleading when they give you a price then try to add 2000 grand more, had to deal on that. I should of walked out. More
