My experience with the service department was extremely disappointing. This was my first service with them and will be my last. I was in for my routine maintenance. Firstly, I was welcomed by a unfrien disappointing. This was my first service with them and will be my last. I was in for my routine maintenance. Firstly, I was welcomed by a unfriendly service advisor who had a bit of a chip on her shoulder with the fact that I didn't pull my car into the garage, but rather parked and came in (it was my first time, how was I to know). The attitude continued. She walked me through the paperwork very quickly. I had an additional matter with my seats that I asked was looked into. Part way through the day, I received a text asking what I wanted to proceed with. I wasn't expecting to be communicated in this manner, so did not see if for about 1 hour. I assumed (bad on me) that this was a part of the maintenance, so I asked for 1 of the 4 to be done. When I came to get the vehicle at the end of the day, I was given a LARGE bill. It turned out they fixed something I did not ask for. After some discussion, they did not charge me for this mistake on their part (that was the only good to come of this experience). A small, but humorous thing, is that it was raining all day. They spent the time and money to wash my car, however could not be bothered to wipe down the dash or steering wheel - a service I have received in all of my prior vehicles with other companies. As for the seats, they simply told me to steam clean and where to go. I went to this place and it turns out that company doesn't even have that steam clean option any longer (it hasn't in months). Obviously they didn't take the time nor care to actually help me out. Due to their extremely poor customer service, lack of attention to detail and bloating costs, I will not be returning and have been telling others, as I will continue to do. More
Let me start by saying that my purchasing experience was phenomenal due to the great salesperson I had, this fact, plus the fact that they have a nice waiting area is where the 1 star comes from. My first phenomenal due to the great salesperson I had, this fact, plus the fact that they have a nice waiting area is where the 1 star comes from. My first service, at 15,000 kms was unpleasant to say the least. When I purchased the vehicle I was told that runs around $200, not bad I thought, a little more than other oil changes but I knew VW's ran a little higher so needless to say I was shocked when they told me it was $387. I questioned it based on what I was told her response was "do you still want to do it" I felt like I had no choice since it is part of the required maintenance. Anyhow when I left $400 lighter I called my coworker who owns a VW and found out that his 15,000 service at another dealership cost $150 less!! when I called the service manager Holly to question it she asked if I could send a copy of his and she would get back to me. 4 days later she called and offered me a $55 credit towards my next service as the parts there were $55 more. I declined because I have no intention of returning to Southgate for service EVER. I know that the 30,000 km service at the other dealership is cheaper than what I paid for the 15,000 at Southgate, why the xxxx would I go back there? Absolutely ridiculous, she couldn't justify it, so no thanks. My advice is to shop around at the other dealerships! More

I have had a Volkswagon for 6 years now and not once has service been good. The first time I brought my car in to have the back seat bolted down and an oil change. Got my car back without the oil change. To service been good. The first time I brought my car in to have the back seat bolted down and an oil change. Got my car back without the oil change. Today's fiasco, bringing a tire in. Made an apt for the tire to be fixed or replaced. I assumed replaced. They found a nail in the tire and were fixing it. great. except that they didn't look at it till the following morning. When I text to ask where the tire was. Oh, it will be ready before ten. I left my house at 1015, 5 mins away they text saying that the tire needs to be replaced. I suppose if you looked at it when it was scheduled we would have known it needed to be replaced and you could have ordered it then and I would have made alternative arrangements to get to the funeral I was supposed to be at. Got a call back from the service manager Holy. Advised that the the work order was opened yesterday but no one looked at it. Also advised that I wouldnt have a tire till next Wednesday. No solutions other than if you have a spare they would put it on or the donut. No service cars anymoe because they only have 7 left. This woman could care less that I have yet to have a good experience with this company or that I wanted to trade my car so I didnt have to deal with their rediculous CS. When I tried to thank Holy for attempting to call me back to address this, she yelled stating I am calling you back. Woah lady, listen to the rest of the sentence. Yike, keep the professionalisim going. No wonder service with your dealership is this pathetic. The only good experience I had was witht he young lady that booked my car in and the receptionist that use to work there. More
TLTR: dealer failed to provide regular updates on factory ordered car, surprised us with unexpected costs, and worse broke off our agreement so they can sell the car for more once it arrived 7 months after o ordered car, surprised us with unexpected costs, and worse broke off our agreement so they can sell the car for more once it arrived 7 months after ordering. A car we needed so we can take our newborn baby home from hospital. Went to Sherwood park, got the same car (without waiting for months!) for less money and more value. Given the conditions of the car buying market in 2022, I wasn't expecting much, but my first car buying experience couldn't have gone any worse. This dealership delivered on all negative "car salesman" stereotypes and beyond. My wife and I factory ordered a Tiguan in March 2022 with Steven and that's where customer support stopped. It took multiple weeks to get a receipt of our order and a few months to actually get the purchasing agreement. It wasn't until July that we actually got the cost of the vehicle (which of course was different from what Steve had handwritten down for us). Long story short, we complained, Danny the sales manager was gracious and gave us a discount as long as I agreed on the purchasing agreement. Having wasted several months, we couldn't cut our losses and agreed. Fast forward to April, car arrives and we get a call from the finance department to finalize the paperwork. In the call they try to upsell additional services so instead we ask to remove one of the packages which was forced on us, they agree, and everyone is happy. Unfortunately for this dealership, doesn't seem like they want to provide good customer service, so instead of us driving away in our brand new car for which we've waited for months, Danny refuses to sell to us and cancels breaks the purchasing agreement we had signed off on. All in all huge waste of time and energy. More
Worst experience i have ever had with dealing with warranty from a company. They told me everything was fine with my vehicle up to the point my warranty is expired even though I had a sensor coming on warranty from a company. They told me everything was fine with my vehicle up to the point my warranty is expired even though I had a sensor coming on. Then a month after my warranty expires they tell me I should replace my entire sensor board due to faulty sensors and told me these sort of things just happen due to alberta winters. I felt completely scammed! More
