Purchased a brand new 2024 Atlas Cross-Sport from Southgate Volkswagen. Arrived to the dealership Wednesday afternoon with no appointment and requested a test drive. Unit was readied within ten minutes and ample time was offered for the test drive. Sales process was quick and TJ in sales was great to deal with. Sent the quote back twice to have their Mandatory smart program add-on removed, only to find out that their sales manager refuses to sell vehicles unless you sign off on that program. Questionable business ethics from their business management group. After completing sales agreement their finance team had time on the spot to go over the final details with immediate credit approval. Nicky went through the typical finance, accessory packs, and extended warranty options going over any questions with great detail. Requested expedited next day delivery which was accommodated without issue, where they went over the various tech, safety and ergonomic features. Two weeks after delivery I decided to upgrade the kilometre limit of the ten-year extended warranty for resale from 120 to 180k where Mildred and Nicky were again awesome to work with. This is my first experience with the Volkswagen brand. More
I dropped my car off Tuesday night before a Wed 10:00am service appointment (oil change and engine diagnostic given the yellow light is on) and it's Thursday morning and I still haven't gotten a call. Called again, finally got someone and they're saying it's now being scanned. Reality is, it didn't even make it into the shop yesterday. If you can't even bother to call customers, you're not even hitting the basement of customer service. Update (Nov 29) I chatted with Luke and he owned the lack of communication and apologized. He said it was a complex diagnosis, but because they were able to clear the particulate filter error code (which happened now for the second time) with a regen cycle, I had to pay for the diagnosis. That issue/part is under warranty, but Luke said VW won't allow them to replace it and have to follow a very specific process. The initial review of 1-star was related to communication, so I'll now adjust to three, but still not a great experience paying for the same diagnosis twice (albeit the first wasn't at Southgate VW). I expect we'll get that code again in the future... so we'll see where that goes. More

Absolutely terrible service department. Bought a brand new vehicle and within a week experienced several issues with warning lights and front head light. Arranged a day to come to the city to have the car fixed, only to get it back with all the same issues. When I asked why they had my car for 2 full days and did absolutely nothing their only response was that it is a unfixable issue and that they can't fix it. (Cruise control and front assist) and they never even addressed the other issues. Nor did they give me a reason for not fixing them. The service lady I was dealing with has no idea how to do her job very unorganized. 0/10 DO NOT RECOMMENED THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT! GO SOMEWHERE ELSE. SUPER SHADY DEALERSHIP. More
Originally, I thought it was a decent experience, until the sales manager did not get me a few things I asked or as part of the deal. PRINCIPLE is everything when dealing with a dealership, and because there was a lack of this when trying to get some of those things, I got run around. First I was told part of what I asked for was there waiting for me.Then when I came two weeks later, they said it had never come in. Then my salesman said even if he had to get it from another dealership he would get it... two weeks later, still nothing when I called. The next day I come and salesman said they would call when it was in, and I said I was tired of the runaround. We went over to parts, and the one guy started to get mouthy which made me more angry. I swore while describing what should have been and I banged my fist on the counter after I started to get really upset, and the guy told me not to get tough with him! Not to get tough with him??? Was he trying to get me to react? I have never been treated so xxxxty by anyone I have done business with ever, and I don't put up with that crap! I finally got part of what I was supposed to get, but surely I will never deal with this dealership again, and will ensure anyone I know knows why. Principle is everything, and if they will cheat on small things, watch out trying to get repairs done! I don't know any names off hand but the salesman, which I do not know if it was any part his fault, I don't think so, but his name is not listed below. More
Huge rave to sales Carlos, financing Mildred and Service manager Danny for their efforts in securing me the exact vehicle I asked for. They put the work in and quick to address any concerns. They gave me a fair deal, and did what needed to be done to make what i wanted work in my budget, they are very attentive and quick to respond to questions and concerns. Any issues where addressed immediatly without hesitation. I am very happy with my purchase and the high attention given to issues raised even after the sale was complete (minor of coarse). True to their word. Highly recommended! Thank you for your excellent service. More
Let me start out saying that I have been a VW fan since the 80's. I am originally from Europe and VW has always been famous about their customer service and quality of work. Hence I became a customer in Canada over a decade ago. So I have been going between Southgate and Sherwood Park VW for this period of time. I took my vehicle into the service with issues regarding the shifter. Its a standard. I have extended warranty. After diagnosing my car it turned out that there was an "outside influence" that caused the gear shifter to break and warranty would not cover it. Meaning that someone placed the transmission into safe mode and left it in there, which broke the pin casing damage to the gear shifter. My car was sitting at the shop for over a week, "waiting for the parts" during which time we were arguing over who is responsible for the damage that was done to my car. As I said I only service my car at two locations, Southgate VW and Sherwood Park VW. None of the above services admitted that they did it, I certainly did not do it. I was left with no option but to pay the hefty repair cost. After doing my own due diligence, I had decided to take my vehicle to a different third party shop to find out what has really happened as things were just not adding up. Upon picking up my car I was charged for the attempted repair when I was only expecting to pay for the diagnostics only as my car was not fixed at Southgate VW. Needless to say, I will not be back in either of these dealerships ever and I will make sure that tell to as many people as possible that vehicles are not safe in these shops. I understand that mistakes happen, but it is not fair to make the customer pay for those mistakes. Unfortunately the famous VW reputation does not apply to Southgate and Sherwood Park VW! Unfortunately there is no option for zero stars. More

In the past 17 years I’ve bought vehicles in Norden VW and Sherwood Park VW, and they are both amazing places. The only reason I went to this place was because the other 2 dealerships didn’t have the color and model vehicle my wife and I were looking for. The experience went great at first, and there was a sales “manager”, Dave Jacobs, who upsold us on all of the warranty available. The problem started when we had to use the windshield rock chip coverage, and when we brought the car in, they refused to service us due to the fact the it was a heated windshield, and they could do more damage. Long story short, I’ve tried, for over 1 year to get this issue resolved and Mr Jacobs refuses to acknowledge my emails, and the rest of the service and sales staff refuse to take ownership and do something about it. After all of this time, my chips are now cracks, and Southgate VW feels that I should pay for the windshield and they have refused to return the money we paid for the coverage. BEWARE! Go to any other VW dealership in town… I would even be weary of any AutoCanada dealership, since they are the ones “managing” this site. More
