Avoid this dealership at all costs! I purchased a Hyundai Kona in October of 2023, at the time of purchase I also bought a set of winter tires on rims. The tires and rims they sold me were too small and caused a major and constant malfunction of the ABS system. The vehicle would brake suddenly as if something was in front of it for no reason, I was almost rear-ended twice and involved in a serious road rage incident. I made multiple trips and calls to the dealership service department and was told every time that they could not figure out the issue. Once the summer tires were installed in spring of 2024, problem solved, I also had a new windshield installed at the same time and believed it was the re-calibration that fixed the issue. I was never satisfied with the service department and had started going elsewhere for routine maintenance, when I went to have my winter tires installed there for the season, they immediately noticed they were too small and advised against installation. I called South Trail and that began a week long fight to get them to address the fact that this was their original error and had been the cause of all the malfunctions all along. I was talked down too, ignored, misled, and outright lied to by the sales manager Reggie. (I should note that after I suggested it, I was offered a chance to purchase new winter tires and rims at cost, this was before I drove the car again with the tires they sold me and realized the ABS issue was back). If I hadn't gone elsewhere and sought advice from multiple other dealerships and tire shops and simply believed South Trail Hyundai, I would still be driving with a dangerous malfunction. Reggie told me that all the other places I spoke to were "just saying that" to me about the tires to make a sale. This place only cares about the original sale, they don't understand basic customer service, common sense or the safety of their vehicles on the road. Even my original sales experience with Alex was mediocre at best, and obviously I was disappointed in the service when they could not diagnose the issues over multiple visits and calls. Once I returned to the service department yet again for them to "test drive" for the issue again, the service manager immediately agreed that the tires were too small and that was the obviously the cause of the ABS malfunction. Not sure why that never occurred to them in all the previous visits...The dealership manager then begrudgingly approved a larger tire size on the same rims. No apology, no face to face contact, no follow up and generally just embarrassingly poor customer service. I LOVE my Hyundai Kona, it gets noticed everywhere and I always recommend it. I will now also be telling people to NEVER go to this dealership, or any part of the McManes Auto Group, they obviously cannot be trusted at all. Zero stars. More

Highly recommend buying else where, where they don't take advantage of your trust. Worst buying experience ever for a car. To bad for them , so far they have lost 2 sales from family and a friend that went to another Hyundai dealership, also all the servicing and more, warranty, accessories etc. In the end it cost them more than the extra 4 grand they nailed me for. I should of known better than to trust a dealership. Don't make the same mistake I did....go elsewhere! More

In my car-buying journey, this dealership has been a huge disappointment. Despite paying over 3k for what was advertised as an Alberta climate package, I was shocked to discover that essential services like disappointment. Despite paying over 3k for what was advertised as an Alberta climate package, I was shocked to discover that essential services like winterization, paint protection film (PPF), and other standard procedures were not included—services that are typically part of the package for new vehicles in the province. To make matters worse, after charging me for the Alberta climate package, they then tried to upsell me on additional services like PPF, winterization, and winter mats, pushing the total cost to over 8k. Don't be misled by their deceptive marketing of the Alberta climate package. More

Finally a special thanks to delivery specialist Miguel who explained me about all the special features and details of car excellently. Altogether it was a wonderful experience. Quickly for those that don’t like to read a long winded review. The customer service and general competence of the service department is beyond terrible. 0 out of 5 if could. If you want to be miserable and you want your car to not be in top shape. Then take it here. Otherwise STAY AWAY. Now the long winded review. This review is just about the service department, mechanics and customer service. I have no experience with sales. Also I want anyone reading this to think hard about if these reviews are legit. I strongly believe they’re fake. The 5 star ones anyway. Let me explain why. I spoke to 2 different managers a year or so apart. Both told me that the place is a bit of a mess and there are a lot of unhappy people. Then every time I spoke with a service rep they told me things aren’t great or just quit and I never saw them again. There should be a lot more 1 star reviews like this one. Anyway. Here is the review. Pleas note if I could give 0 I would. Too bad I can’t. First time we took out Hyundai Santa Fe in2 years or so ago we had little problems. We store our winter tires there and get regular oil changes. Then things slowly got bad. I would call to get tires swapped and oil change. The would forget tires or forget that I wanted an oil change. Simple mistake. I would tell them the bolts are on the seat. They call and ask where they are. Fine. We would bring our car in the evening before to try to be first so we can get our car back around noon. 3 kids and need a car. No matter when we dropped off. Morning at 8am? 90 days before? 😊 Doesn’t matter. Our car was looked at around noon-3pm almost every time. Many times we got calls around 3PM to tell us the status. Then calls stopped happening. WE would have to call to check the status. After that our sunroof stopped working. A lot of stuff stopped working but this isn’t a review of Hyundais quality. We have a warranty. I called to bring in the car. They took a look and said somethings wrong, looks like some type of arm or something for it. They will order it. Takes 2 weeks or so. Ok. Now this is around Christmas 2022. Our family got sick. Like all of us. So I call to reschedule for the new year a couple weeks later. No big deal. I 110% make sure to mention NOT to send the part back. The lady (no longer works there, shock!) said she will 150% make sure they don’t send it back and we won’t have to wait 1-2 weeks. You’ll never guess what happened. Anyways. After waiting 9 days for the part to come back they book us in. They change whatever out and the say its all good. It starts to snow in Calgary so can’t check the sunroof. Wait a couple days. Then finally check it. Doesn’t work at all. Worse the before. THEY LIED TO US. Good we checked and didn’t forget. Our warranty is up in May. It works worse then ever. We call. Talk to new manager. They apologize like usual. We get our rep Jay. He apologizes, not sure what happened or why they said it was fixed then it wasn’t. He will look into it and get the new part to finally get this solved. He will call me in 2-3 days. 1 week later. Finally I call. Jay says he is talking to Hyundai as they don’t want to warranty the part. Tells you a lot about Hyundai hey? A full warranty that only covers certain things. This is not our fault in anyway that the sunroof is broken. Bad workmanship. Jay says he will call me back in 2-3 days. 1 week later. I call to see what the status is. Jay quit. Shocker again. New lady has no idea what I’m talking about. She says someone will call me back in 2 days. 1 week later. I call and a new lady answers. She has no idea what I’m talking about. THAT’S IT. I’m done. This customer service COULD NOT BE WORSE. Just terrible. The management is also terrible as they do nothing but apologize. Apologizes are useless if you don’t fix things. We are never going back there again. Ever. More
