As it was a used vehicle it had to go through the inspection process which revealed it needed new tires. Glenn went to bat for us and has a set of heavy duty all weather truck tires installed instead of more basic tires. Glenn's service was fantastic. More
I needed a new key with a transponder chip for my Chevy van, and the parts department was very friendly and quoted $91. I called around to 2 other GM dealerships and a locksmith, all of whom were going to van, and the parts department was very friendly and quoted $91. I called around to 2 other GM dealerships and a locksmith, all of whom were going to charge $120. So even though I had to wait a few weeks to get it at Shaganappi (compared to a few days at the other places), I paid for the $91, only to find out weeks later that it was going to cost another $104 to 'program' the key. They refused to make good on their original quote, but did give me my money back so I'll go somewhere else. I think it's unlikely that it really costs $100 to program the key nor that it takes very long to do. But even if it does, the original quote and paid for price should have been honored. More

She has expert knowledge with my vehicle issues, is friendly and polite, and she is timely when making commitments. I have always been treated very well by the staff at this dealership, and don't trust anyone else servicing my GMC vehicles. I brought my 2016 GMC 3500 in for service, and described two specific problems in detail. 1) a faulty wiring harness in the door, symptoms being a door-ajar message when the door is closed, and the driver d two specific problems in detail. 1) a faulty wiring harness in the door, symptoms being a door-ajar message when the door is closed, and the driver door window switch not working properly. I informed the Service Advisor that both problems began occurring at exactly the same time, and that I had already traced the problem to the door wiring harness. I requested a price to resolve the issue. I was informed that they would to independently diagnose the problem for a standard service fee and that I would be given a quote to resolve the issue once this was done. The second issue they were requested to resolve was 2) a misfire on the number 8 cylinder that only occurred at idle and, more specifically, only as-and-when the truck was at idle for an extended duration (ie: warming up in cold weather). I informed them that this problem had occurred previously but had gone away after resetting the ECU, but was now recurring and had resulted in an issue with the catalytic converter due to the non-combusted fuel at idle. I was again told that a standard diagnostic fee would be required to diagnose the problem and that they would get back to me with a quote to resolve the issue. A day later I was called and told that I needed to replace the door latch and catalytic converter system entirely. When I asked whether or not they had looked at the wiring harness in the door, they acted like it was the first time it was brought up and as if it was a totally separate issue. They requested a separate fee to diagnose it in spite of the fact that it was what I had specifically asked them to look at. After much complaining they relented and agreed to look at the wiring harness - primary because (no surprise) they couldn't roll the driver window back up without resolving the issue. They did not have a diagnosis for the misfire at idle, hadn't looked at it, and effectively gaslit me by requesting an abhorrently exorbitant fee to replace the system without actually resolving the issue that caused it. I begrudgingly picked up the vehicle, paid for the "diagnostic fee" in spite of what seemed like little to no diagnostics being performed, and took the truck home. I removed and replaced the wiring harness myself. The process took approximately 45 minutes. There was nothing wrong with the door latch - as I suspected, the issue with the door latch was also caused by the faulty harness. Had I listened to their "technician" I'd have spent nearly $1k to resolve a problem that didn't exist and which wouldn't have resolved the issue I brought the truck in for. I have received no response to the complaint about the misleading and un-requested diagnosis for the catalytic converters, no any response to what is causing the misfire at idle. The mechanics described the idle issue as a symptom of the catalytic converters being plugged tells me that they don't even have a basic grasp of how the system works. Had I blindly listened, I'd have spent nearly $5k on an ineffective solution to a downstream symptom without resolving the issue. As if that isn't enough, when I picked the truck up I was disappointed to see that the rear windows were left open a crack... because it had been snowing out, the rear door on the driver and passenger side were completely covered in water as was the floor - which had frozen over night, leaving a mass of ice inside the windows and over the door panels. No apology was provided. That I happen to be a millwright and understand how to resolve problems may be part of the reason that I seem to understand problem solving better than they do, but I brought a vehicle in with the intent to save some time and frustration and instead I have left with more frustration and will end up dealing with the problems myself. I feel strongly that a person with less mechanical aptitude would be taken advantage of entirely by this service department. Do not use them!!! BE WARNED! More

In the afternoon she phoned me back and said there is about $3000 worth of repairs that should be completed. Some I agreed but the one that I did not trust was the rear brakes need to be replaced at a cost of $1400. I said no and over a 2 week period I had a second and third check at reputable shops.. Both said the brakes and rotors were ok. i trusted Shaganappi to tell me the truth on repairs but after this misleading lie I WILL NOT BE RETURNING TO SHAG EVER AGAIN. Their lies have cost them a customer. More
