Dealer backed issues identified with used vehicle Within days of purchasing a used 2010 Toyota Highlander from Scarborough Toyota Scion, the tail gate closing mechanism literally fell apart in my hand Within days of purchasing a used 2010 Toyota Highlander from Scarborough Toyota Scion, the tail gate closing mechanism literally fell apart in my hands. Upon further inspection, the mechanism appeared to have been "patched" together for sale purposes. After running through the sequence of events with with John Sediq, Pre-Owned Sales Manager, we brought the vehicle in to Scarborough Toyota Scion for further inspection. The staff took pictures of the tail gate area and told me they would never have sold the vehicle to me in this condition had they known about the defective tail gate closing mechanism. They promptly ordered the parts to repair it (including an entirely new tail gate as this was identified as the best way to fix properly and permanently vs. a less long term solution) and were able to accommodate fitting my vehicle in for servicing while I was in town (as I live a considerable distance away), completing ALL of the body work within one day to limit any further inconvenience caused to me. When the vehicle was returned to me, it had been detailed completely and I felt like I was getting into a new-to-me vehicle once again! When I got home, I realized that the back carpeting and mats were not in the vehicle. John Sediq promptly located the missing mats and promptly shipped them to me, again, limiting any further inconvenience to me. John did a wonderful job helping me to resolve this issue that had been passed on from the previous owner. His customer service was top rate and I would definitely recommend him as well as Scarborough Toyota Scion! More

This is my 5th Toyota with the dealership, and I keep going back because of the sales and service support. The staff make me feel like a valued customer and although in this day and age, that expression going back because of the sales and service support. If I have a concern, it is quickly addressed, and I'm not left feeling like I'm a thorn in their sides. My customer loyalty as a longer term client is recognized in a variety of ways which include service, repairs, and new purchase support. I would go back to this dealership again even though I have now moved outside the city. More

I was extremely satisfied with his service and can easily see why he is the service manager.Those managerial skills definitely show through.He was kind, to the point and i felt valued as a customer. He was even able to fix my long over due problem with that wind shield spray power. Hopefully, my salt covered car didn't ruin his white shirt dress shirt as he fixed my car himself! I did not go in with the idea of fixing my spray power, just the blade. But he was more than willing to help when i asked about it generally. It is great to know there is still genuine service available out there at dealerships and even managers are able to get on the floor and do the work themselves.
