Rear Hatch Repair Ford Escape Had to have my rear hatch fixed on my 2010 Ford Escape. It would not open anymore. I paid $189 for a diagnostic check then the total bill was $659. Had to have my rear hatch fixed on my 2010 Ford Escape. It would not open anymore. I paid $189 for a diagnostic check then the total bill was $659. This was an expensive repair and had to pay it as I did not have a choice. I feel they should have waived the diagnostic charge since I had it repaired. Just wondering whether others have had the same problem. Should this be a recall? The service person was fine. I was able to get a ride home and back to pick up the vehicle, which was repaired early.
