we had our 37 000 km check up and all went as expected. All went as expected for the check up. We had also an alignment. We discovered a leak that was also repaired. Customer Service and extra charges It seems that every time we come to Ford for servicing we are charged with something even though we have the extended warranty plan. We also have had some substantial issues with the vehicle which shouldnt be happening since it has low kilometers and we owned it from new. 1. Entertainment system - The entertainment system module had to be replaced. Ford had the vehicle for a couple days but did not offer a loan vehicle. 2. Moonroof sluggish - This problem was apparent from new but was getting to the point of not closing. Ford said that it just needed to be cleaned and lubricated. Moonroof is still sluggish and Ford charged for the cleaning and lubricating. Still problem is not fixed. 3. Radio signal cuts out - Radio was really good when new. Could pick up signals a 100 kilometers from calgary and edmonton. Radio suddenly could not search and was static for some radio stations. Expressed this issue and still not fixed. My aftermarket radio in our other car can pick up radio stations better than our Ford. 4. Replaced Transaxle seal and powersteering hose - These items were leaking and fixed however, we were charged a deductible to use the extended warranty. First of all, how can these items be leaking for a vehicle that is less than 80k. Second, we spent a lot of money to have the extended warranty only to be charged again. From these experiences, this is the last time I will go to this dealership. Furthermore this is last time I will purchase a Ford. More

see below I'm from Fort McMurray, brought my vehicle in for service and signal light bulb on passenger side. Asked the rep to quote and call me with a price on I'm from Fort McMurray, brought my vehicle in for service and signal light bulb on passenger side. Asked the rep to quote and call me with a price on a spare key and fob because mine burnt in my home in the Mac, also asked if the mech could loosen the nut on my hitch so I could through it in the back of my truck. I didn't receive a call from serv.rep. picked my truck up, no quote for fob/key and tried to charge me 48.00 for loosening the nut on my hitch. Was not impressed at all. Cashier removed the 48.00 but I was not happy, who charges 48.00 to loosen a nut?? More
Repair air conditioning I asked Northstar to check my air conditioning on my vehicle as it was still under warranty. They repaired the unit and checked everything perfectly. The air now works like new, even though the vehicle is a 2010. The shuttle dropped me off and picked me up and my vehicle was ready by 3 pm. More
Polite, but not at all customer-service oriented. After many years of owning Fords (trucks and cars) we have decided our next vehicle will not be a Ford. Our Ford Truck 150 and our 2012 Ford Explore After many years of owning Fords (trucks and cars) we have decided our next vehicle will not be a Ford. Our Ford Truck 150 and our 2012 Ford Explorer have had technical issues and when we go online we have read where our issue are a problem with that year's model. One issue has happened twice now and is obviously a defect in construction. Even so, the problems are not dealt with at our service centre. We understand there can be technical problems, but one hopes that the company will back up their product. None of ours has been dealt with satisfactorily. We have to scratch out any bit of help to then just be told how sorry they are, but they can't do anything. Also, our Platinum Shield Protection plan purchased at the time we bought the vehicle was not accurately documented in the computer system that tracks when the next inspection is due. I had to prove with my paperwork that it was done in the past at the right interval. When we asked to speak with a manager, we were not allowed to do so, but told to contact the Ford company personally. We have been very frustrated with this service centre over serveral visits and will now go to another in the future. More
