Warranty Work Double Check everything!!! I brought my Cadillac Platinum ESV in for work - wiper motor and power window motor not operating at capacity at 82,000km ( Double Check everything!!! I brought my Cadillac Platinum ESV in for work - wiper motor and power window motor not operating at capacity at 82,000km (nice), after being SOLD the Total Plus extended warranty I was told by the adviser that the parts in question weren't covered. Slow cycle times were the issue, something I was told by a mechanic that was normal for Cadillac's. Anyways, 30,00 km later and now the motors are ceased; and guess who's stuck paying full cost and labour. Funny you know...this dealership (McNaught) told me that it wasn't covered when in reality it is FULLY covered as per another Cadillac dealership. So disappointing, so long Cadillac. Back to Ford. Bottom line is, even @ 10% loss of efficacy of those parts, they should have been replaced without question. I shouldn't have to harp or push for them to find the proper warranty that I paid for for it to be implemented. For the record, I offered to pay full labour in exchange for the parts at cost and the service manager wouldn't even consider it. Not the type of service I want when I buy a $110,000 SUV. More
A Big City Dealership with a Small Town Heart I have a lot to say and I need to give the whole story to do it justice. In September 2015, I bought a 2008 Malibu from another dealership, and it I have a lot to say and I need to give the whole story to do it justice. In September 2015, I bought a 2008 Malibu from another dealership, and it was sent over to McNaught for a key and two FOBs. While I was waiting for the car, I asked the Service Manager, Johni if he could help me find the block heater cord. He discovered it was in really bad shape, and ended up testing it and the block heater to find out they were both in need of replacement. I asked him to take it for a ride and tell me if he thought there was anything else wrong with it, and I told him how the dealership I bought it from gave me a hard time about some of the items that were supposed to be fixed. Johni then noticed that there was an exhaust leak that should not have passed the safety. He didn't charge me for his help, which was very kind, given what I had just been through. (I went back to the dealership I bought it from and they had to fix it --- and believe me, they were not nice about it.) In February 2016, I had an accident and my car was written off. I was terrified of going to a dealership after my last experience, but remembered how Johni treated me so I thought, why not try McNaught. So I looked online and saw they had a vehicle I would like, so I booked an appointment with Geoff Banjavich. He was very personable and professional and let me test drive the vehicle I was after. I decided I wanted to buy it, and it was a bit out of my price range, but he brought Claude to meet me and we agreed on a price I could live with for this GM Certified beautiful car. After getting the car home, I noticed a couple of little things that weren't working properly, so I called Geoff and he arranged for me to come in and see Kinga Janiszewska in Service. Kinga was every bit as personable and professional as Geoff. They both immediately addressed my concerns and I feel like I was dealing with small town friends rather than a big city dealership without a heart. I am very glad I went to McNaught Cadillac Buick GMC and would highly recommend the dealership and the service departments to everyone. Thank you so much, McNaught! Shannon Thompson St. James More
