Poor quality workmanship then intimidated by Service Manager I have taken my car to Lakewood Chev several times since I bought my car through another dealership. I left that dealership and several others with a I have taken my car to Lakewood Chev several times since I bought my car through another dealership. I left that dealership and several others with a very bad taste in my mouth, I came to Lakewood because of a reputation of doing good work and courtesy etc. and hoped that I finally found a dealership I could trust to repair my vehicle properly. Well the relationship started off good, but quickly went down hill. First a worker in the shop scratches my car when I am talking to him, inadvertently it appears, but all the same, you would think more care would be taken. Then I was over charged for an oil change that I shouldn't have even been charged since the oil pan was leaking after 30000km. On top of that they charged me $20 more for the oil change, than what I pay at another dealership.There was also more time taken than needed for repairs. This is because I came to an appointment time, but the car was left for sometime before it was even looked at. Next, this last visit, I had to get the oil pan gasket done again, this time at 54000km. It was one year before that I had them do the gasket, and it wasn't done correctly. There was also a recall for a key chime that needed the computer to be flashed, which I was told would take an hour. I found out about the leak when I took it to a different dealership to get the oil changed. I contacted the service manager Paul, who said to get the car in at my earliest convenience and they would do it as quickly as possible. So I told him I could come in the next morning around 11 and he said they will take care of it right away. So I get there and drop the car off, and watch as they drive it into the bay. My wife and I go to the waiting room and I started to look at newer vehicles. I walk back as and how they are doing after a half hour or so, and the car is no longer in the shop, it has been parked out back. When i asked the service personel whats going on, he said the one mechanic had to leave that is going to work on it, but that it would be an hour or so before they could do anything. I told them I had to be out of there by the latest 2:30 as I had meetings to make, I was told no problem by then. So I asked for a rental. I was picked up by Budget who brought me to their store. Once there I see smaller cars, but mostly trucks. I asked for a smaller car, as my car is a sonic, and they said all gm cars were recalled and all they had for my was an equinox. Knowing this vehicle, not liking it whatsoever and knowing that the gas mileage is nearly 3 times what it is in my car, I didn't want that, I want the nissan sentra that was sitting there. They said I couldn't have it, that it had to be a Gm vehicle or GM would not pay them. So I had them drive me back to the dealership. I check on the car and is was just being looked at. I got one of the salesman to let me try their malibu demo out so I could get a package delivered to the post office while I was waiting. I went to do that cam back and they still were not done. Now being 2:10 I was starting to get worried that I wouldn't be able to make my meeting. Service advisor says, ht shouldn't be much longer. and that I should be out there by 2:30. At 2:45, I was very upset and went to the service manager to complain. He began to intimidate me by mimicking what I was saying and then trying to tell me I was not a businessman because of the way I was reacting. My time is worth over $200 hr, and when I am on set producing a film, that rises to $1000/hr. This man was incredibly frustrating and his behavior was intolerable. I raised my voice as he became more intimidating until he finally retreated back to his office closing the door , then having a few other larger employees come around and make a presence, more intimidation, after I told him well I could also sue for the money I am losing, and he dared me to. I don't know if he sent nice guy Danny over to try an intimidate me further, but I get along good with Danny and so we talked and I told him what happened. I was so mad I could barely contain myself. I will never go back to this dealership again. I don't understand why GM in Alberta has seemed so pathetic. I have been to nearly every dealership north of calgary and in the edmonton area, and everyone of them in one way or another has either lied, deceived, damaged, intimidated or wasted my time, and frankly I am sickened by this. On the other occasions I have had the head office of GM in Oshawa to get them to make things right, which most times were willing, but even then I was fed deception. GM seems like they have lost their way with customers. I have watched for several years and have seen only one dealership that kind of treats me okay, but it is not this one. I feel that I should have a written apology from the service manager himself, and I should be compensated for some of my time at least that they had wasted because they chose not to work on my car immediately as I was told, and further my expenses for having to come back and wast more time because the gasket rent GM vehicles as a courtesy vehicles is restrictive and unacceptable, since due to branding the head office thinks it is better for their customers to only use gm vehicles, which wouldn't have been so bad if they had one, but since they did not I should have been able to rent whatever it was I wanted. I was almost ready to buy another car from them, but I will not because I do not have a reliable dealership to take the vehicle in for maintenance and warranty work. I have totally lost faith in GM and I don't think I can support the company anymore. I am considering making this more of a public issue than it is since I know I am not the only one and something must be done to better the way customers are treated. More

Very very impressed with the level and quality of service from this lady. Jim was a wonderful man that was welcoming to the pair of us walking in from off the street. Really knew the specs of the car and wanted to make you comfortable and transparent with the processes of what needed to happen and where to go. More

Amazing service from the service department after a 3 hour drive, my chev duramax went into limp mode. the def and check engine lights were on. i stopped at the nearest chev dealer and was told after a 3 hour drive, my chev duramax went into limp mode. the def and check engine lights were on. i stopped at the nearest chev dealer and was told they could not help me until a week from today. that was no good to me as i was in edmonton area to pick up a fifth wheel holiday trailer for my mother. i checked online for more dealers in the area and at 1:45 in the afternoon, lakewood chev was the first i called.i was told that if i could get it there by 2:30, they would be happy to diagnose and let me know if they could fix by the end of the day. so off i went up hwy 2 at 89 km/h.i arrive at lakewood at 2:34 and was ushered right in the service bay before i could even get out of my truck. wow. Dan the service writer had the paperwork done in a few minutes and told me his top tech would get right on it. after a 15 minute wait in the waiting area ,Dan came and found me and said they had diagnosed the issue(DEF tank heater) and had already found the replacement part. would i be willing to have them fix it right away? ABSOLUTELY THANK YOU VERY MUCH!!!!. then he proceeded to tell me that there was a special bulletin on the problem and it would be repaired at no cost to me. Dan, you just made my month sir. after pointing me to the restaurant across the street he said he would call in about 2 hours,as soon as it was done. so off i went for lunch and a beverage to collect myself and killed an hour and a half watching baseball highlights. as i was walking back onto the lot, Dan was coming out the service bay to meet me to tell me it was just finished, come on in and sign the paperwork and you can be on your way again. i am blown away by the service i received from lakewood and will be going there again if i am in the market for sure. to be treated like royalty when i am an out of towner and haven't even dealt with them before is a testament to a code of service which has been sorely lacking in most places for far to long. thank you again DAN, and your team. you turned a xxxx day into a good one. Above and beyond, that's how they roll at Lakewood Chevy My experience began when I first spoke with Jacob over the phone, then he entrusted me with his colleague Linda Desjarlais to help me out. We discussed a few times over the phone about the vehicle a few days before, then I decided finally to make my trip down from Grande Prairie to Edmonton to meet and discuss in person. My plan was to rent a 1-way car from GP that I would later drop at Edmonton's airport. When I arrived on that day, I was greeted by Linda herself and Jacob. They both knew I drove all this way to come see the car, and they made me feel at home! We saw the car, negotiated one last time (it's in our nature to negotiate the negotiated price already haha), and then advised Linda that I wanted to take the car to my own independent auto mechanic shop for an inspection, which she agreed nicely. We took the car to the mechanic and left the vehicle there for inspection, and Linda drove us back to the dealership where we met the financing team to discuss options. We decided it was best to buy the vehicle cash rather than financing it, so we took our rental which we had and headed to the local bank to get a draft. My experience at the bank was a disastrous one. For multiple reasons I couldn't get a draft for the full amount, and was in a bad situation. I didn't know what to do (I was short $2,000). I called the dealership from the bank, and asked to speak to Jacob, but he wasn't there. So they put me through to Dan Bass, Former CFL SUPER STAR grey cup winner!!! He made my life easier when he told me I can pay with my credit card the balance, that he was able to accommodate me, THAT EASY! It was about 5:30pm when I left the bank and decided to go see the car we left at the auto shop. To our absolute surprise the shop was closed!!!! With the car I wanted to buy stuck there!!!! I absolutely did not know what to do! We went back my wife and I to Lakewood Chevy, we were absolutely embarrassed and did not know what to say. Imagine our situation for a second: my wife and I left that morning, planned to drop off a rental in Edmonton, and drive back the same day with our new vehicle to GP , again all on the same day. Unfortunately we knew things were not going to go as we planned anymore! We saw Linda, and Dan Bass, their reactions were absolutely priceless (hahah) "our car is stuck there? What do you mean". Linda and Dan made miracles happen that evening: -Linda followed me to the airport where I was able to drop off my rental, and drove me back to the dealership, and offered my wife and I one of their own cars so we can get around for the night!!! Above and beyond! Wow. They even helped us find a hotel nearby, and even recommended us a few good restaurants not too far away! It was a very long day for my wife and I, but Lakewood Chevy has Superstars working for them! The next morning we drove back to the Auto mechanic inspection place (gave s*** to the mechanic there haha), got our soon to be new car and drove it back to the dealership. YES it was clean and absolutely flawless! Linda was there, Jacob was there, had a few laughs, paid for the car, took a few pictures with the crew, and we headed back to GP. Bravo Lakewood Chevy! Bravo! Buying a car should always be that easy. Unfortunately some bad car salesmen in the industry really tarnish your role's reputation, they need training from YOU guys! You guys should give them courses on how to treat clients! Again, bravo! Above and beyond is what I got from Lakewood Chevy! Ohhhh and I even got to wear Dan's ring!!!!!!!! Honoured! Thanks Lakewood Chevy! Message to senior management at Lakewood Chevy: when I come back next time to buy another car for my wife, I better see Linda Desjarlais, Jacob Smith, and Dan Bass' s names promoted!
