Kia West Edmonton - Service Centre

I had occasion to visit the service department at KIA West Edmonton today and I was treated extremely well. Everyting was completed in a prompt, efficient and friendly manner. I find the sevice department keps getting better and better and especially so in the last three to four months. I am always amazed at how well I am treated when I come in for service. I decided to write this review because I have been dealing with this dealership since 2002 and have never expressed how happy I am with them. More

Pre-purchased a "premium synthetic" oil package. When I went to get the oil change and inquired what brand of oil would be used, I was told I would be getting standard motor oil with an add package. When I went to get the oil change and inquired what brand of oil would be used, I was told I would be getting standard motor oil with an additive (what kind of additive, he didn't know) and that it was "as good as synthetic" this way. The manager, who he phoned but wouldn't come out face to face, insisted that this was what they used as a 'synthetic' oil, and went as far as to say that this additive magically turns motor into synthetic. Since snake oil is far from synthetic, I refused the service. Couldn't get my money back either. What really concerns me is that if I hadn't asked - they would have gleefully filled my car with this stuff and sent me on my way none the wiser - I can only guess how many customers they have done this to.
