They did everything possible to get me to walk away from the sale so they could sell it for more to someone else. This dealership and dealing with Frank DeRose was the most distasteful car buying experience I have had in my entire life. Frank's emails were dismissed by him saying he made mistakes. Absolutely no accountability by him or management. As I said before, they would do anything to get you to walk away so they could sell it to someone else. I purchased my 2019 Kia Sorento SXL, 56,800 km from Kia West Edmonton and always got my vehicle serviced there over the last 5 years. The 5 year 100,000 km warranty ended on July 12, 2023. Then in September I got an error on my dash that the headlights Dynamic Bending was not working. When driving at night it is now hard to see as the lights are not lined up correctly. They assessed that the right headlight assembly needed to be replaced. They quoted my $4500 (which is Crazy expensive!) and said it was not a warranty item as it expired in July. The service department told me that this was a common problem with the Sorento. The Kia Stinger had a recall in the USA for their Dynamic Bending lights, but nothing for the Sorento. I appealed to Kia Canada and they said I would have to work out a deal with the dealership. West Edmonton Kia would do nothing for me. I will never buy another Kia and I will never deal with West Edmonton Kia again. More
Went in for a car and talked with one of the sales rep, had all our questions answered and she was very nice. Was moved to the finance to deposit a $500 holding payment until monday, in which at any point had all our questions answered and she was very nice. Was moved to the finance to deposit a $500 holding payment until monday, in which at any point if I am not interested i can let them know and my money would be refunded, this was made very clear by the Finance Advisor, that the payment was ONLY held if I wanted the car, if I didnt i would have it refunded, was told there are other people interested in the vehicle and i gave clear and very very specific instructions that if other people are interested in the car TO SELL THE CAR TO THEM AND PUT ME AS A LAST OPTION AS I CAN ALWAYS GET SOMETHING ELSE. Although my very clear and extremely easy to understand instructions seemed to be not in english as they did NOT do what was told. I was looking at a new vehicle and wanted to check for an SUV, i had another car being worked on by a mechanic and was looking around incase the mechanic did not finish, i was looking for an answer on friday but i was unsure about the mechanic being able to get things done so I was told that the car could be placed on hold until monday and after that the money would be returned. I was contacted by the sales rep and we discussed the final price, which was $54K and not $44K so we didnt continue from there. Sarurday i was calling the dealership and was getting no answer, called the reception and nothing, called over 8 times and nothing, finally got someone on Service and they tried to transfer me to my finance advisor and nothing, so she transferred me to reception, finally got a receptionist, was told that my finanical advisor is not available until monday (very convenient) and asked what it was about and I told the receptionist that I am NO LONGER interested in the vehicle i placed a deposit on, they said ok and would mention/forward it to the FA when she is in. Come Monday, got a text message saying that since they were trying to get a hold of us for 4 days and were calling us (only called on friday when we discussed about the final prices and payments regarding the car) and said that because of that, they had to hold the car for us and the deposit would not be refunded due to those circumstances. We went in and talked with the sales rep and she verbally told us that if we didnt want the car we would have to call the finance department because its out of her power to do anything since everything was moved to finance, NOW NOTE THIS, THE FINANCE ONLY TOOK A HOLDING DEPOSIT OF $500, NO PAPERWORK OR BILL OF SALE OR ANY FORM OR DOCUMENT WAS SIGNED SAYING THAT WE ARE 100% INTERESTED AND CONFIRMING TO PURCHASE THE VEHICLE. THE ONLY THING SIGNED WAS ALLOWING THEM TO RUN A CREDIT SCORE AND THAT IS IT. So when we were there, the Branch Manager came to talk to us and blamed us for his "LoSs Of SaLeS" on the car we had a holding on, I explained to him that we were not 100% going to get the car and that what was told to BOTH the sales rep and the finance rep that if someone is interested in the car to sell it and not hold it, he turned it back on us and again blamed us for losing customers on the vehicle and its our fault for not notifying them that we dont want it when I clearly called saturday and conveniently the Finance Advisor is off on the weekends. He blamed us again and refused to give the money back, kept saying he lost business, and why we didnt contact the sales rep to tell them we wont buy the car, we never signed a contract stating we would buy the car, we didnt sign any down payment to the car or anything like that, he kept pushing and blaming us for it and had the audacity to try and sell us another car while blaming the customer and trying to guilt us into this whole situation, pathetic excuse for a branch manager, extremely unprofessional and gives 0 about his potential customers. Advise anyone to avoid this branch and neve rplace a deposit without any signed agreement, AMVIC and Kia Headquarters will definitely be getting notified. More

Here in Alberta dealerships have to sell the advertised price but we were scammed almost $12k in extra charges we did not need or ask for. They told us that we needed to have the extended warranty of $3500.00 to secure our financing. It was all LIES and also illegal. The finance manager (Edgar Acevedo) rewrote the deal after showing us the original deal and before signing. When we tried to cancel the warranty Industrial Alliance said it was too late because it was past 10days. Then we were charged tire warranty on a used vehicle to find out they are just cheap Canadian Tire tires. Shall I go on? The advertised price was $16,900 and we paid $28,900... plus we put a deposit of $7,000. I bought a Kia Soul less than 2 months ago and it has just over 1500kms on it. I bought it at Go Kia South with dealer-installed winter tires with rims. They want to charge me for "diagnostics" AND to re-balance dealer-installed wheels because "it's not covered under warrantee". Apparently Kia doesn't guarantee their work! And apparently Kia West doesn't give a xxxx about customer service! More
i traded in for a 2016 sorento and have had ongoing issues with it. This dealership doesn't return calls when you have an issue.
