Hi there, thank you for your feedback and the opportunity to get back to you on this. I apologize if this was not properly explained to you when you visited the shop. The reason we have a requirement to remove anything from the tops of vehicles is because much of our equipment in the shop runs down from the ceiling. This includes things like our exhaust hoses, our oil lines, our air lines, our powerwasher hoses, etc. The height of these is set a little above the height of a tundra roof. With this system it poses a risk of these catching on items such as a kayak on a roof as they run along and behind all bays. Due to this, our insurance company put a requirement to not have large items attached to vehicles when they are brought into the shop. I hope this makes sense and i sincerely apologize for the inconvenience. We should make sure that customers are aware of this before coming to the dealership. Dear Jamie, I needed keys cut and coded to my vehicle. At 9am on a sunny Thursday it seems to me this could have been done while the Tundra was parked outside. As a customer, what I expect of my Toyota Service Center is out of the box thinking to get the job done and me on my way as soon as possible. What I witnessed is over a hour of my day wasted and nothing to show for it. If there’s anything (beyond words) you have in mind to help make me feel valued as a customer please reach out to me. Hi Dave, my apologies, I did not realize the older Tundra's did not need to be hooked up to the computer for the key reprogramming, that is my mistake. I have asked my team to make sure this is taken care of and get your key done at no charge for you. If there are any issues at all please reach out to me.
