Do not purchase a vehicle from Jim Pattison Lexus Victoria, and do not have your vehicle repaired by their service department. I brought my Lexus in for a minor tire leak, and their technician lef Victoria, and do not have your vehicle repaired by their service department. I brought my Lexus in for a minor tire leak, and their technician left my door open while operating the hoist, causing nearly $7,000 in damage and essentially ripping off my vehicle door. Their mistake is now permanently recorded on my CARFAX as an approximately $7,000 collision. Despite repairing the physical damage, the collision history has permanently reduced the value of my vehicle by an estimated roughly $4,000, and the dealership is refusing to provide any form of compensation for the diminished value. The dealership's position has essentially been: “we repaired the physical damage, so we're done”. I contacted three other Lexus dealerships in BC, and all three confirmed that the collision record has reduced my vehicle's resale/trade-in value and that the dealership should be providing compensation for the resulting loss. The only solution management suggested is that when I eventually sell the vehicle, I could bring it back to them and they may consider paying more for it due to the incident, depending on an appraisal at that time. After what happened, why would I ever bring my vehicle back, allow them to appraise or handle it again, or do any future business with them? That is not a reasonable resolution. The original mistake was bad enough, but the way management has handled the consequences has been even worse: poor communication, repeated resistance, and an unwillingness to take responsibility for the full financial impact of damage caused entirely by their own staff. I drove a basically new, one-year-old Lexus into this dealership for a minor tire leak and ended up with nearly $7,000 in dealership-caused damage, a permanent collision record, thousands of dollars in diminished value, and a significant amount of wasted time trying to resolve an issue I did not cause. I am now having to escalate the matter further to pursue proper compensation for the financial loss. There are other Lexus dealerships in BC. I strongly recommend using one of them. More

But Rosario--now almost three years later--again came to our rescue this past week when we were stranded north of Courtenay. In desperation, we called Rosario and left a message. Within minutes he was back to us, explained how to solve the problem and advised us to go to a nearby Toyota dealer to have the computer reset before serious damage was done to the car.
