Went from leasing the 2008 Dodge GR Caravan SE, to purchase of 2010 Dodge GR Caravan SXT and now into the 2015 SXT Premium Grand Caravan. 3rd time round speaks for itself. Islington Chrysler is the place to go for your vehicle needs!! More
Slick Financing Add-ons. Beware. I was very happy with my experience purchasing and financing my vehicle, until a couple days after picking up my van and reviewing the paperwork which I was very happy with my experience purchasing and financing my vehicle, until a couple days after picking up my van and reviewing the paperwork which had Umar had cooly told us to "keep in an envelope in the van". I discovered that my $10,000 minivan had an insane $3000 extra of 'optional' insurance tacked on top of the financing. And there was my initials, besides these numbers I'd quickly signed without inspecting. Obviously, I am partially to blame for not catching this as I had given me a rough monthly payment amount before even buying the vehicle. When we went back with Umar to work out the financing I never thought of it that the number given to me by my salesman was suddenly way larger - he never mentioned this number to us. Basically, he misled us to believe that the rate we were getting was the lowest rate we could get. I was prepared for a pitch on rustproofing etc, but he didn't push any of that on us so I let down my guard a little too much, I definitely should've noticed these numbers when we went to pickup the van a couple days later and sign the paperwork. The numbers were there, but after waiting over an hour for them to get the paperwork ready I was trying to quickly get on my way home to an appointment. I was so upset I hardly slept that night after realizing my $10,000 deal I thought I'd got was actually $13,000. I was worried I'd been scammed. I spoke with Umar about this next day and he was nice about it and reassured me that he gets a lot of customers calling after freaking out about noticing costs they didn't first see on their paperwork. Apparently they get away with it often enough, to them the cash they gain from being sneaky is worth more than being upfront and having happy customers. Umar reassured me the 'optional insurance' would be refunded, but that it could take 2-3 weeks for the refund cheque to come. 3 weeks came and went, with zero paperwork, nothing even from the bank my loan was financed through. I spoke with him again, was instructed to wait a bit longer. Nothing came. I sent an email a week, 3 weeks in a row, asking for updates, requesting he double check that my address was correct, and he didn't reply to any of them. Finally, after about 7 weeks I called again. He gave me a number to call (apparently it's the customer's job to fix his mistake) I did the legwork and discovered that they had sent the wrong address to the bank, so my statements were probably being mailed to the wrong address. I'm not sure what the excuse was with the cheque, but it did come a few days later finally after I let him know about the mistake. In hindsight if I'd called Umar more often instead of emailing thing probably would've been resolved quicker. But in the year 2015 there isn't a good excuse for ignoring customer emails. I'm glad the issue was resolved, but they could've made me a lot less upset by apologizing for what they've done instead of just trying to brush it off and move on (a manager did apologize to me near the end). Also, emails have to be taken as seriously as phone calls. Come on. Ignoring an email doesn't make the problem go away. Through it all Umar was nice to speak with on the phone, even though some of my emails were quite animated, so kudos to him for that. Just be careful, he has a laid back personality that makes him seem trustworthy. He's trying to make money, not save you cash. Check the facts, know your numbers, watch what you're signing and you should be ok with him. More

We settled on the Grand Caravan SXT but when we signed the deal and pick up the car we were flabegasted by the sales method. They showed us the SXT Plus which has the same tag as the SXT but many more upgrades. It's a bait and switch! Shows us the upgrade but neglected to tell us it was the SXT Plus. Almost walked away. Probably should have! More

As a new immigrant I didn't know much about buying a car in Canada but Tre Johnson helped me and my family to pick not just a good car, but in our budget and also helped with the plate and documents. Also Jay-Jay Ricafort helped with the documents and indicated an insurance dealer. I had some issues with the rotor wheels that I just realized after driving in a highway a couple of weeks after the buying. I just had to go to the service department and they fixed it to me for free. Couldn't be happier. More
