How to Make Delivery Experience a Pleasure Focus RS - Island Ford still had their 2016 allocation of 1 unit, so we ordered a Focus RS on January 10, 2016. Built in the Saarlouis plant in Germ Focus RS - Island Ford still had their 2016 allocation of 1 unit, so we ordered a Focus RS on January 10, 2016. Built in the Saarlouis plant in Germany, these are extremely rare cars and hard to come by. After what seemed an interminable wait, the car arrived on November 28, and apparently the whole dealership was excited about it. Justin personally got involved in the delivery of this car, from supervising the auto carrier off load, assigning his best performance tech Clark to do the PDI, and making certain that everyone was on the same page in delivering this car. They gave me a video of the car being unloaded off the carrier. Took my special request list of delivery items (don’t do this, don’t do that, make sure this is done, etc.) and made certain it was followed, including a gas fill with Chevron 94. It helps that Justin is also a car guy who brought Roush officially in to his store, and they have sold a ton of upgrades as a result (mostly F150 blower and lifts additions). Someone will get a spectacular Grabber Blue 2017 Mustang GT 5.0 convertible out front which will retail for an extra $21K after Roush upgrades. Now at around 600 hp. But here’s the thing; Tuesday I had access to their service shop to do a photo shoot and hang out with the PDI tech (Clark Fenton). Wednesday, our sales lady Sandra picked us up at our house to give us a ride into the dealership. It was her day off. After arriving at the dealership. Later, en route to the Chevron for a tank of 94 octane, we picked up a body panel screw in one of the Michelin Sport Cup II tires. It wasn’t clear if it happened on their lot or on the highway. Went back late in the day to have them check the source of the thump thump. Clark immediately went for a test drive and took the car straight onto a service lift, finding the screw. Bad news, they can repair hole but tire loses its speed rating. Their cost on a new tire about $490. They arranged for service shuttle to take me back to our house to get my spare wheels with snows (part of the factory order). Clark stayed beyond quitting time and mounted all 4 and I took the 3 good Sport Cup wheels home. They ordered a new tire and Justin said he would cover it. Not what I was expecting. Impressed to say the least. Oh, and because the car arrived in time for the Black Friday Cash Back incentive program, Edie Lang took $3500 off our bill of sale. It just doesn't get any better. More

The shuttle service area has been extended further south in the Cowichan Valley which is very convenient and my appointment was scheduled at a time that ensured the shuttle service was operating. I once had a service done at Glen Oak Ford in Langford and they do not provide a shuttle service anywhere and I was stuck there while my vehicle was in the shop and the service department in Langford was not very helpful, friendly or efficient. I have found the staff at Island Ford know their customers by name and even though the service department is extremely busy, they always acknowledge people as they enter. While I was in picking up my vehicle, the manager, Justin, and Trevor, in service, went above and beyond to make this visit memorable. Trevor's willingness to follow through on an inquiry and Justin's generosity were completely unexpected and made my week!! Their actions solidified our commitment to this dealership. More
Steve Marshall "Can't Hold a candle" to Island Ford Duncan! I recently had the unfortunate experience of having to have a new clutch installed on my 2014 Focus which I purchased new from Steve Marshall Ford in I recently had the unfortunate experience of having to have a new clutch installed on my 2014 Focus which I purchased new from Steve Marshall Ford in Nanaimo when I was a resident there back in 2014. After moving to Duncan this past April, I simply had to have my car looked at because very time I would pull away from a stop or climb a hill the car would jerk and slip as if there was a transmission problem. It wasn't until dropped by Island Ford for an oil change that I asked the service department about the problem I was having with the car and they quickly jumped on the issue to check things out. They further told me after checking my serial number on the vehicle that Ford was having some automatic transmission clutch problems on certain 2014 Ford Fiesta and Focus models and my car was in the range of models that were affected. Not to worry Service Manager, Derren Jesson said, you only have 22K on the car and it would be covered under the warranty. Bottom line here is that the whole service crew were fabulous starting right with the service writer Sue Irvine, the shuttle service driver, right up to Mr. Derren Jesson, Service Manager, who was very professional, knowledgeable and extremely understanding and courteous I might add. Derren, the service manager even went out with me and test drove the car to properly diagnose the issue I was experiencing. There is no doubt that Island Ford is a "First Class" Ford operation with a pleasant atmosphere, top notch employees who really care about their customers. I have bought a few new Ford vehicles now in the past from the competition in Nanaimo where I used to live and never got close to the quality of service I got from Island Ford All I can say is that Mr Pambrun is very lucky to have people like Derren Jesson under his employ because without them he'd have no successful dealership. Ivan, Chris and Dan did just that, not only getting the financing I needed but making sure that it would fit into my budget and not become something I regretted later on. I felt completely at ease with Ivan and truly believed that he was acting in my best interest and not his. I was chatting with the service rep(Deanna) about how I would just like to be able to deal with a sales rep. that sticks around for more than a couple years. Someone who is genuine. I asked if she could if there were any sales reps at this dealership she would recommend. This is where I met Dave. I have just purchased my third truck from Dave. Dave treats you like a friend rather than a business tranaction. Their is no secrets. We have sat down together, looking at his computer screen, while we built each of the three factory order trucks I have purchased from him over the last 8 years...agreeing on a price together, with no hidden agenda. I would recommend Dave to any and all. I will continue to purchase trucks from Dave exclusively. Love my new F350. Thanks Dave. More

Great sleuthing. We did encounter a small hiccup, but it was handled as speedily and efficiently as possible. I don't judge companies or people by the hiccups, but rather on how they take care of them. Island Ford and Ryan's support staff are the best. Thank you for a positive car acquisition experience. More
