But our part arrived and our truck is as good as new! Definitely recommend this dealership! My wife and I attended at this dealership at 2 pm on a Friday in response to a letter announcing that we would get an incentive of $1000 by trading our 2008 Torrent on a new GMC Terrain. I met Harlem Bro Friday in response to a letter announcing that we would get an incentive of $1000 by trading our 2008 Torrent on a new GMC Terrain. I met Harlem Brooks. He was accommodating as we looked at the inventory. I had researched the GMC site and downloaded a handbook. So, I had a good idea of what I wanted. Unfortunately there was nothing in the inventory that matched my desire to have a 6 cylinder unit. I mentioned the recent offer and asked what my Torrent would be worth in a trade. Harlem said he would find out and we walked off the lot towards the offices. As we approached Harlem asked someone standing on the top steps what he thought my Torrent was worth. This appeared to be Steve Peters. He neither came down to my level nor introduced himself. He quoted me a price based on a 2005 model he recently took in on trade. He was unsure if the offer that brought me was only on the Terrain or included an Equinox. So there we were standing in the parking lot looking up at this fellow. No mention that the "Pontiac Loyalty" offer made any difference. I bought the vehicle new and drove it 10,000 km a year. To be fair, I did not have it there. I was driving another GM product at the time. I have 4 other vehicles. I was obviously unimpressed with this price comparison and said that I would sell it my self if that was all it was worth. I felt sorry for Harlem as my wife and I walked away. I had the total feeling of indifference from this experience. I took the time to come to this dealer, look at the cars, discuss my Torrent as a trade. No discussion of getting me the Terrain I was looking for and no sales comment on getting me the best value for my Torrent. Mr. Peters could not take a few steps and get on an even eye level. No one invited me into the offices to discuss my possible purchase further, trade or no trade! Disappointing to the point that I will make the drive to the next GM dealer. More

He explained everything I needed to know about the process of buying a new car and after I purchased my car he helped me hook up my blue tooth phone and walked me through setting up and using all the special features of the car. My wife and I had never been to Harris Auto in Parksville before last weekend. We dropped in on the off-chance that there might be a used vehicle that would suit my wife. After a test drive and some study on the history of this vehicle we purchased it the next day. In retrospect, Steve did a first rate job in going over the details of the Mazda and steering us through the process of purchasing the vehicle. Well done, Steve. Carol and I appreciated your consicientious efforts. On a first look basis, Harris Auto seems to be a well run business. The staff, at least the ones we talked to, were business-like but approachable; the building and furnishings were clean and presentable; the displays of vehicles showed care had been taken in their arrangement. I have bought new cars before but have never been as impressed with the whole procedure as I was this time. We have been dealing with Andy Lancaster for many years. Since he has been at Oceanside Chev Olds in Parksville, B.C. we have purchased two Buick Enclasves 2010 and 2012. Although we live in West Kelowna, B.C. we travelled to Parksville on Vancouver Island because we know we will receive the best service and price possible. For example: our last Buick purchase totally beat our expectations as I have been suffering with health issues and Andy and Richard delivered our new car and picked up the two vehicles (one being an almost new Cruze LT that we also purchased at Oceanside).
