A super friendly and knowledgeable team! Great experience from the first phone call with Geoff Reinhard. We knew which car we wanted to purchase and were looking for a good deal. The drive fr Great experience from the first phone call with Geoff Reinhard. We knew which car we wanted to purchase and were looking for a good deal. The drive from Victoria to Nanaimo was well worth it despite the heavy snowfall that surprised us on the way. Harris Mazda offered us exactly what we hoped for and more. The team created a relaxed and comfortable atmosphere. Our sales rep Geoff Reinhard went above and beyond by driving us to the insurance company and to a hotel afterwards in a four wheel drive as we were stranded in the snow. On top of that Geoff picked us up at the hotel the next morning and drove us to the dealership to pick up our new car. David Corrigal organized the financial side. He was very professional and a pleasure to deal with and was able to make our already great deal even better. Doug Cullham was very attentive and made sure that we were happy and comfortable. The whole team operated very well together! More

Did our research and made the right choice We spent considerable time with online research before testing driving, narrowing down our preferences for compact SUVs. An article by Car and Driver We spent considerable time with online research before testing driving, narrowing down our preferences for compact SUVs. An article by Car and Driver was a big factor in putting the CX5 on the top of our list-for the AWD technology. Mazda's rating, through many sources, was consistently in first or second spot for several criteria points, including safety, technology, reliability and resale value. We eliminated the Honda CRV because of the 1.5L Turbo engine (we've owned a vehicle with the smaller engine + turbo and would not recommend it). We eliminated the Subaru Forester after anecdotal reviews about reliability. We spoke to drivers we know who own a Rav4 and a Rogue. Then we test drove our top 3: Mazda CX5 first, Toyota Rav4 then Nissan Rogue. We immediately loved the CX5-but the HUD (heads up display) was a huge bonus! For safety (mitigating distractions) HUD and display controls (for stereo etc) were major considerations. And what a quiet ride!! Even without research, you can tell this is a well thought out, well built vehicle. Our salesman was Adams - he is amazing!! He answered all our questions, able to respond easily to all our queries (we had a checklist!) and showed us features we hadn't been aware of. Overall, he spent several hours with us over two days and was always completely friendly and informative, and genuine. A real asset to Harris Mazda. But due diligence - onward to Toyota and Nissan: The RAV4, though an eye-catching exterior design and undeniable brand quality wasn't for us (though I know someone who drives one and loves it). We did not like the dash - which sticks out quite far and controls that are below the 'lip' (had to duck my head to find the seat warmer button) and controls scattered around the instrument panel. It felt 'light' to drive, not sturdy like the Mazda. The Rogue was next. My brother drives one and loves it. We liked a lot of things about the Rogue. The panoramic moonroof was beautiful - we've had one before and really liked it. The D-shaped steering wheel is a nice design feature (hint, hint to other manufacturers). The rear seats are well designed (theatre/step up seating for better passenger visibility) and excellent rear cargo configuration options. I liked the pillar location of the blind spot indicator light. The controls were well located. And the price, with year end incentives on the 2017 model, was undeniably attractive - well below the Mazda. However, the Rogue does not have a digital speedometer (if you've driven with one for years, believe me, you'll miss it), or display controls at hand level, we were more aware of the road noise and our colour choices were severely limited due to model year and...we were in love with the Mazda. After a night of thinking and comparing and a couple of phone calls back and forth the next morning, we needed to make a decision. We were completly honest with Adams, telling him we were torn between wanting the Mazda and the big price difference in the Rogue. He called us back with a better financing rate + an accessory we wanted at cost and let us think about it. We decided on the Mazda. If you think it was an easy decision - let me tell you that both my husband and I are Scottish - price matters! But ultimately the Mazda was our choice because of the advanced safety features and overall quality of the vehicle. Or, as I told Sales Manager David - it's somewhat like choosing between the cheerleader or the valedictorian (no offense)- we focused on the benefits of a long quality relationship . I won't sugar coat it, the CX5 was the most expensive (by quite a bit) of the choices we had, but we feel that it's worth it, both in the short term and in the long run. And we feel confident we'll recoup a lot of the difference at resale, because of quality and features. The purchase process went smoothly. Adams helped us set up the features of the car before we left the lot and we feel that nothing was left incomplete. At no point did we feel rushed, or pressured or like 'customers' - it was genuinely friendly and we had the full attention of each person we interacted with (we even got homemade Christmas cookies). Harris Mazda impressed us on every level and we do not hesitate to recommend them completely. More
