Hi Dave,Just wanted to share our experience with you Hi Dave, Just wanted to share our experience with you over the last week. Last Friday, Susan and I were driving back from Comox to Parksville wh Hi Dave, Just wanted to share our experience with you over the last week. Last Friday, Susan and I were driving back from Comox to Parksville when our engine light came on. I said to Susan I would call Kia when we got home. As we approached Bowser, I got messages for Check Automatous Braking, Check Smart Cruise Control and 4 warning lights came on. We stopped at the Nile Creek beach access and turned the car off. I phoned the service department at 1:30PM. They said they could get me in at 3:25PM. When we pulled out of onto the old highway and went about 1/2 KM, a message “Turn off the engine” came on. I pulled over and restarted the car. It took Riley the better part of an hour to diagnose the problem as a faulty crankshaft sensor. Michelle advised me of the issue and said the car was OK to drive but if all the warnings lights started to flash, have the car towed in. She ordered a part and it would be 4-6 weeks before it arrived. The ride home was very rough and jerky and I had no power to go up the hill outside of Nanoose and the car slowed to 60kph with the petal to the metal. We didn’t go anywhere over the weekend until this past Wednesday when we had to go to Nanaimo. On the way, a message “Turn off the Engine” and “Check hybrid system” came on. After a restart we continued to Nanaimo and back home. Yesterday (Thursday) Susan was running errands around Parksville and twice had to restart the engine in the space of 1/2 KM. It unnerved her completely. When she got home I called Michelle and informed her the car was not drivable. She said to call roadside assistance and have the car towed in. I asked for a courtesy vehicle. She said she needed to see if one was available and would get back to me. Yes a vehicle was available. I made arrangements to get the car towed in and said I would be by today (Friday) around 1-ish to pick up the courtesy car. At 12:45 just before I left home, I got a call from Jacob to tell me that our car was ready to go. I was stunned. I had my neighbour drive me in. It turns out it was the camshaft sensor and not the crankshaft sensor. They snagged one from a 2022 model on the lot and installed it our our 2019. The car was washed and vacuumed and fully charged up. The ride home - wow - hadn’t had that sort of get up and go in several months. Anyway I just wanted to let you know that Susan and I were very pleased with how your team handled the whole experience and I want to express our gratitude and thanks to Michelle, MacKenzie, Jacob, Steve, Jeff and Riley for going above and beyond. I am sure others of your team had a hand in this and also express our thanks to them as well. More

A fantastic experience with Danya at Harris Kia. We walked in thinking there was no new product and had low expectations but Danya and the team made sure we were taken care of and drove away with a 202 walked in thinking there was no new product and had low expectations but Danya and the team made sure we were taken care of and drove away with a 2022 Kia Sorento at a price that beat 3 other competitors we saw that same day. We love our new car and would highly recommend Danya at Harris Kia More
The dealership was poorly organized. Didn't work on a deal with me at all. Just gave me something that the fob doesn't work car had mechanical issues right off the bat. $$ price monthly was wayy more the deal with me at all. Just gave me something that the fob doesn't work car had mechanical issues right off the bat. $$ price monthly was wayy more then I told them I could afford monthly and didn't give me any options at all. Then got insurance in before I could signed papers and rushed the insurance to switch my old car over to the new one qnd then told me my cost was wayyyyy more then I had told the salesman I could do. Only reason I took it after the price was because they kinda screwed me on the transfer and all was done in an ammumsption the costs was at least close to what I was able to do. This is not how you make car deals at all. Was sloppy and disorganized as xxxx.. I won't be going back. First week in the bed vehical I already got to fix the thing because they sold me a van with unrepaired suspension damaged...no warrantees at all. Now I gotta fix the unsafe vehical they gave me with damaged tie rod ends and strut from whatever accedent that obv happen on it. $600 a Month with a repair job on top first week. And I was told my car would be tradeable and then the GM offers me a price my tires were worth more then alone. And lost the private sale of it then after I was told I would get the price I was selling it for on trade otherwise I'd have waited to use it as a down payment. All in all I feel complete screwed on the whole deal and situation. Not cool at all. I was told kia nanaimo was a good one but both me and my wife weren't impressed at all with the whole experience there. They won't be getting our business again... More
Outstanding. When I destroyed a tire in a pothole they did everything possible to accommodate us even though they are not our dealer. Arranged a ride, stayed late to replace tire and do alignment and had did everything possible to accommodate us even though they are not our dealer. Arranged a ride, stayed late to replace tire and do alignment and had us on our way for our mini vacation. Could not have asked more from great staff all around. Big thanks. More
Absolutely wonderful experience with Aly + Joshua! Our trade in was a complete headache at every other dealership but these guys managed to get it all done in one day without any hiccups. 1. Cameron reamed out a sales rep in front of me . Very unprofessional. The reason he reamed him out? Becuase the sales rep related to me that Cameron agreed to a deal and then the next morning Cameron sai unprofessional. The reason he reamed him out? Becuase the sales rep related to me that Cameron agreed to a deal and then the next morning Cameron said something different I believed my sales rep. 2. Car came with only 1 key fob. When I asked for a second one - which most cars have - I was told it would cost me $495. I know these things are expensive. So when I asked if they couldn't do better, I was told that the Manager had said that I'd already received enough of a deal on my putrchase. Again, a very unprofessional response. More

November 2021 I met with a sales rep to discuss trading in my 2019 KIA Soul. The 2016 KIA Sorento presented to me met all my family’s needs. However, the thing my family most needed was to stay within budget. I have a toddler and soon I will be on maternity leave with baby #2 and on a fixed income for 18 months. I was very clear from the beginning on what I could afford. They tried to get me to put $1500 down and increase bi-weekly payments by 30 dollars. ‘It’s not that much” they said. Well to me $30.00 bi-weekly is actually a bag of groceries to feed my family. I declined all the offers and told them I was comfortable to stay in my Kia Soul if it meant I would be remaining in my budget. They told me I would never get into a bigger vehicle if I wasn’t willing to pay more bi-weekly. My response “that is fine, I have a reliable car, sure it is small but I can make it work until I am in a position to pay more.” In the end they offered me this: I would put no money down, my bi-weekly payments would increase by only 2 dollars. I was comfortable with this. I have never traded in a vehicle before. I was a bit confused about how it would all work. I tried to ask the right questions and grasp what I was getting into to the best of my ability. I asked “what will happen to my old loan?” they responded “we will pay off your old loan and you will get a new loan”. Throughout my meeting they used the words “loan” and “lien” interchangeably and looking back I should have asked for more clarification. In the end I was under the impression that the entirety of my old loan was being paid off. I would have a new loan, I estimated in my mind it might would be between $21000-$25000 , a sizable loan for me but one I was comfortable with. Finance came through, insurance was called, and the transfer was made. I went back into finance for my final meeting. Looking over the final papers I saw the number $32000. It turns out that there was around $5000 from my old loan that was going to be transferred to my new loan. This was never clearly communicated to me at any point. Had it been I would have remained in my older vehicle. Maybe if I was better at math or more knowledgeable about car trade-ins I would have known this. The point is I wasn’t and these ‘professionals’ were supposed to be guiding me. I asked questions, apparently not the right ones. Right away I asked if that was my total loan and told them I was not comfortable with that amount. I told them I didn’t want to go through. They made it seem like it was too late for me to back out. I don’t know enough to say whether or not this was actually the case, but things felt pretty final. I broke down and started crying. Now it was 1 o’clock in the afternoon. I had been at Kia since 8am. I had waited over an hour for the financing to go through. I was starving. I was exhausted. I just wanted to leave. I guess they felt a little bad because they told me my next service would be on the house. I finished signing everything and left. It is hilarious to me that they thought a 100$ (approx.) oil change could negate the $5000 I basically just wasted. In the end I was happy enough with the quality of my new car. It is better suited to my family. I chalked it up to an expensive learning experience. In a few years when it comes time to upgrade I have learned enough to NOT return to Harris KIA Nanaimo. More
