Frustrating Exp but Great Service Recovery I am dissapointered to share this review as I have been going to GWC for a long time. I recently took in my Dodge Nitro because it had no heat. Change I am dissapointered to share this review as I have been going to GWC for a long time. I recently took in my Dodge Nitro because it had no heat. Changed the thermostat and recommended to flush core. First day get vehicle back, now overheats on highway. Take back, service changes the water pump now. Service test drives and gives me ok. I drive it again no heat and again overheats. Take back and the diagnose the I need to replace heat core. So after close to $2k in needless repairs, 4 breakdowns on road and 3 weeks in shop and still NO heat want to replace the heat core for another $2500. Instead we decided to put a bypass on the system and truck will run but no heat and I would sell. Over the 3 weeks, I advised the service team they should have a sakesperson talk to me?? Never did. I needed a loaner for the time in shop. Had the use of a loaner for one day that I still haven’t received my $200 deposit back? I could tell the service advisor (Tyrion) did care but was frustrated by the car issues. When I questioned why my water pump would need to be replaced after they changed the thermostat he said it was likely because of the age. When my truck broke down for the 4th time (all for the same reason all after they changed the thermostat). Enough was enough. I really feel they were just making up diagnosis to keep me paying!! I have driven Dodge for over 25 years and won’t use Great West. No confidence and questionable tactics. The good news. St. Albert Dodge picked up a new sale and a new customer. They were the closest dealership to where my truck broke down for the final time. Probably the easiest sale they ever made. Update: Had a follow call from Ray (Service Manager @ GWC) which was really appreciated. Most companies don’t listen or follow up with disgruntled clients. He does! Took the time to listen and understand my frustration. Had a very good conversation how things could may happened and together we both came to very good understanding. He realizes where they could improve and I appreciate his follow up. I think I may have to give them another chance. More
Incorrect Diagnostic I brought my Chrysler into the dealership because me heat was not working properly and I asked them to do a diagnostic and let me know what was wrong I brought my Chrysler into the dealership because me heat was not working properly and I asked them to do a diagnostic and let me know what was wrong and how much it would cost to fix it. They said that the problem was with the heater core and that it would have to be replaced. They quoted me almost $1800 including parts and labor to fix it so I told them I would take my car somewhere else to get another quote. I took it to another mechanic and they told me that the heater core was in fact not the problem and all that needed to be done was a coolant and heater core flush. The cost for this was $367 instead of the $1800 that Chrysler quoted me. I am very disappointed that the people who should be the experts could be so misleading and incorrect in their diagnosis. I will NEVER go back or recommend that anyone else go here. More
Service ripoff Took my Dodge journey in for diagnostics with a clicking sound in the engine. They alled back six hours later saying would cost $900 to fix it. I declined the repairs and asked when it would be ready, and when I went to pick it up they gone on ahead with repairs anyway doing a bunch of work that was totally unnecessary. Ended up paying $400 for diagnostics and some unecessary parts. Took vehicle to stony plain Chrysler the very next week, and they found the problem and diagnosed it and fixed Underwarranty. GWC service department was abusive, arrogant, and had the gall to threaten to withhold my warranty due to a dirty air filter if I didn't pay More

Also on the way was asking about a second pick up as I had an specialist apoint that I did not want to cancel if I did not have to.. I was quite Ridley told one pick up only( one drop only) so ok now I know but you did not have to be so rude in telling me!! Where is the nice driver!! That I experianced last time?? He was friendly and kind.ADVISE OTHERS TO ASK WHO DRIVER IS BEFOR SCHEDUALING APOINTMENT!! So you don’t have to deal with rude! Or get work done at other dealership More

Quick service but customer service lacks a lot. Simple fix but I did not have an appointment so I cannot complain about the time it took to get fixed. Service desk lacked courtesy and professionalism, let just say it was not a pleasant experience (all the work was done under warranty). After grabbing the keys and going to my vehicle I realized they didn't even give me a complimentary wash after leaving it there for two days. More

Their service department staff are warm, friendly and knowledgable of explaining what the problems of my vehicle where. Since I do not know much about vehicle. The time ,care and the patience to explain the issues of my vehicle to me. Answer all my questions and concerns about my vehicle. They even found issues that my previous mechanic had missed or had not done. Felt very disappointed finding out my previous mechanic drop the ball, of not looking after my car properly. When I go back for my regular maintenance of my vehicle or any problems of my vehicle . I have no worries , when my vehicle in their service department, I trust in there customer service and there tech mechanic support staff. I know my vehicle is looked after thoroughly. Was I ever gouged! My 2016 Ram 1500 Ecodiesel showed a CEL and ETC codes. I cleared the codes myself. It took 10 secs. Codes came back so I knew something was wrong but wasn’t sure what. I figured it could be related to the Cold Air Intake I recently installed. I wanted to take it to Derrick Dodge which I’ve always trusted but it was too far away for me to take a chance. Therefore, I took it to Great West. Later during the day, I received a call from Service. I was told I forgot to put a 3” hose clamp on my cold air intake. I thought oh well, put one on. I ended up paying $435! I asked for an oil change at the same time. They wanted $290! I had it done at Lube City for $114. I was recommended to do a Fuel Filter replacement. I agree it had to be done but they wanted almost $500! They claimed they also had to service the throttle body for carbon buildup ect, reason why it was so expensive. The truck only has 12k! I ended up buying a Fuel Filter from Parts Source for $33 and had it installed for $39.99 by Lube City. Gouging people like this is outrageous. Thankfully I have good mechanic knowledge I can avoid being ripped off. However, how about people who have no clue? This is shameful to run a business this way. I paid the hefty bill, I licked my wounds and I will never be back again. More
