Beware of these crooks!!! I would like to give Grande Prairie Volkswagen zero stars but that isn't an option. Going from purchasing and servicing my car at an outstanding VW d I would like to give Grande Prairie Volkswagen zero stars but that isn't an option. Going from purchasing and servicing my car at an outstanding VW dealership in Kelowna to dealing with GP VW service department has been a complete nightmare. The only other two groups of people I know who have dealt with GP VW feel the exact same way, warned me, and state they will NEVER go back. The employees in the GP VW service department are crooks and poor mechanics. After reading me the long list of problems I "need to fix in order for the car to run" they gave me a number over $10K. When I went to retrieve my car I was greeted with open arms by the salesmen who had my key and file. The salesman who I paid (they charged me $215 when I signed off for a "Complimentary" inspection - I was told the charge was because I said the car was blowing black smoke which is not a part of their complimentary inspection) was extremely persistent that my car has "had a good life" (it's a 2006) and that it was time for me to buy a new car. I told him I was not interested but he continued to pressure me. Before I managed to leave GP VW the salesman had me sign off that I am aware that the car is not in good shape and should not be driven - well, I made it about 100 m from the GP VW parking lot before I had to call a tow truck. The next day I was told by the HONEST private VW mechanic shop in Grande Prairie that the GP VW mechanic left the intake hose off, which is why I couldn't drive the car far. The honest VW mechanic let me know that he could fix my car for 20% the cost that VW quoted me. I was also told by the other VW mechanic shop that they've heard this story many times before from unhappy GP VW customers, who were given an $8-10,000 quote, and that this story doesn't surprise them at all. Update: My car has been beautifully fixed by the private mechanic for a fraction of the price GP VW quoted and I couldn't be happier. My family and I will never step foot in GP VW again. More

There was nothing about this car buying process that felt like a 'negotiation' - Darcy seemed eager to listen to what I had to say and was super friendly. The same can be said about Dustin - he explained the financial particulars very clearly and also listened to any concerns I had regarding the financing end of my car purchase as well as offered great solutions to keep my car looking and running like new during this time. Actually, everyone I encountered at Grande Prairie VW were super friendly and easy to chat with - my brief conversations with other sales members as well as the service and parts counter made me feel like I was having an easy conversation with friends. I realize how cheesy this may sound - to those who are reading this review and have never visited Grande Prairie Volkswagen just TRUST ME and stop by to experience it for yourself. Initially, I had a lot of dread going into this vehicle purchase (based on the events of my previous car purchase from a different dealership, many years ago) - the staff at Grande Prairie Volkswagen made buying a car comfortable and fun. I remember pulling into the lot the day I was to pick up my new Jetta and not seeing in the front or at the side and wondering if something was wrong. Much to my surprise I realized the great looking Jetta in the showroom was the one I test drove, and I couldn't help but look at it and think "wow, is that REALLY mine?" :) :) :) - I don' know if they do this all the time or what but between that and staying open a little later for me (as I don't live in Grande Prairie), I felt like I was on cloud nine when I pulled away in my new car. Thank you again to Darcy, Dustin and all the other staff members who chatted me up during this process. The super friendly, no-pressure approach made car buying FUN, and really it should be a fun, no-stress experience! Thanks again!! :-) More

Seriously amazing service! I came into GP Volkswagen on a whim with my daughter, who had rented a Golf for a week and absolutely loved it. As I was looking for a low-maintenanc I came into GP Volkswagen on a whim with my daughter, who had rented a Golf for a week and absolutely loved it. As I was looking for a low-maintenance, easy on gas summer car I figured why not go test drive. Brad was an exceptional salesman. He started with a low- optioned vehicle so I could concentrate on the performance rather than options. He listened to every question, found out every answer and never once put any pressure on. It felt like going for a joy ride - in a good way! I've already spread the news to friends at how surprised and pleased I was with the purchasing experience. The entire process was painless and actually fun - imagine buying a car being fun! I feel now, a week after the purchase, that I have the full support of the dealership with any questions or concerns I have - and by the way the little Golf is amazing! My winter car is a Chrysler 300C - and at the moment it's parked in the shade as I'm having way too much fun zipping around in my VW! More
