My Sister has had serious health problems over the past couple of years and was looking at purchasing a NEW 2016 Elantra with their automatic transmis My Sister has had serious health problems over the past couple of years and was looking at purchasing a NEW 2016 Elantra with their automatic transmission - last December, I asked her to take the Elantra for a test drive, so she went with a friend to the Hyundai dealer in Barrie.... it was a Saturday, and I remember like it was yesterday....all in all -The sales man talked her into buying a slightly used Elantra demo ... a very bad experience not just for my sister, but me too! In Sept 2016, my sister asked me to look at the 2016 Elantra, so I looked online and noticed one London area Hyundai dealer had a number of very nasty reviews. Something to think about when you or a family member are thinking about this type of expensive investment - I am pleased to write this review so others do not experience the type of nightmare my family experienced from the Hyundai dealer in Barrie last year. The next morning was a Thursday - This is very important because the title of my review! Larry McMullan came out to meet me around 9AM - he was very helpful, as he explained their current 2016 Elantra sale, which included options from Aluminium wheels, power sunroof, rear view camera and their very cool looking fog lights - Now remember this was Thursday morning @9AM, my sister was able to pick up her brand new Licensed & Insured ride early Saturday morning @10AM.... We were seated for lunch less than 2 hours later - it was really nice to see my sisters face, was she ever pleased with her new car. I was also happy, my sister had researched the sale this time, from finding the best interest rates, to learning about those undercoating scams - She even purchased those excellent WeatherTech Floor Mats to save the new interior carpets...anyway - she did her homework! Larry phoned her at work the next week to thank her for her business - this was very nice. Considering the pleasant experience my sister received from Finch Hyundai, this is normal for this dealership - read the reviews, they are all good. I also want to mention the discussion Larry and I had on that Thursday morning. A good friend works at the Honda plant in Alliston - I asked my friend about their new continuously variable transmission for the Civic.... I have also asked a few mechanics about this type of transmission, and Larry impressed me with his thoughts! Larry never put down the Civic, but he already understood that at first, some Honda Civic customers were uncomfortable without feeling or sensing the CVT transmission shifts, so their new Civics now come pre-programmed to have "shift" points so it feels more like a traditional automatic....either way, I told Larry these CVT transmissions reminds me of the centrifugal clutches used in snow machines. Last summer, my other sister purchased a new 2015 Nissan Sentra with this centrifugal clutch system that is basically a type of pulley-based Transmission. I drove her new car for one afternoon and was not impressed with the Nissan CVT.....Sure, the car was nice - but it was new... any new car is nice! Sure, there are many new car manufacturers out there to compete with the Hyundai Elantra, but with their 5 Year warranties, how can you go wrong - What is more important for me is after the sale, how the customer has been treated is very important.... You cannot go wrong dealing with Larry McMullan, he really knows his cars! More

Our sales rep, Sean Fitzpatrick endured numerous visits from my family as we searched for the right vehicle at our price. On every visit, Sean was not only courtesy and cheerful, but exhibited a level of professionalism that rarely seen among sales pros. I have dealt with Sean on two different transactions. One was my own and the other was for a family member. There are two traits that stood out. First, his personal demeanor instantly puts one at ease which eliminates the dread associated with purchasing a vehicle. Secondly, Sean exhibits customer loyalty. After my purchase, I noticed my vehicle was not right. After contacting Sean, he immediately set up an appointment for service and ensured me that Finch Hyundai will go the distance to make the vehicle right. What I did not expect was Sean's offer to use his personal vehicle so I could run an errand. Truly outstanding! My second review is for my service adviser, Kareem Fayad. This gentleman kept me in the loop on what was happening with my vehicle every step of the way. When I didn't hear my name being paged, Kareem tracked me down so I didn't have to needlessly wait any longer. Lastly, Kareem suggested we do a test drive together to ensure that my vehicle's issue was addressed fully. I did not expect this level of service from a shop that was extremely busy.
