1 Review of Chambly Toyota
Avoid Toyota Chambly, the used car manager and his sale guy will lie t your face. My wife's car broke down last summer and so she found an ad for a used Yaris at Toyota Chamby. After work, we went the guy will lie t your face. My wife's car broke down last summer and so she found an ad for a used Yaris at Toyota Chamby. After work, we went there to see the car and the sales guy was very nice and friendly(forgot his name, he is young with dark hair but with lots of white hair for his age). He gave her a decent price too and all seemed to go well. When we test drove the car prior to purchase, the brakes made a squeaking sound and were used. The sales guy told us it was probably used and that he will be changing them if we purchased the car (500$ value). We agreed and my wife returned at the end of the week to pick it up. When she left with the car, the brakes made the same noise and so she went back to ask why. The sales guy told her that they were still in good condition, met the Toyota standards (used at 48% and it takes 50% or more for them to change the brakes as part of the Toyota certified used car program). My wife then reminded him that he promised to change the brakes. He became very impatient and irritated. He then called the manager for the used car section that came over to ridicule my wife by saying that they are a professional establishment and that she does not have a point of contention since it is not written in the sales contract. They were condescending to her and told her that she should not have purchased it if she was not happy with the brakes. Of course, she was in utter dismay and left as she is not a confrontational person. When I went there personally to ask why they did not change the brakes after verbally committing to doing so, I got the same treatment: first they told me that it meets the standards and that they did not promise to change the brakes and ultimately is is may fault since it is not written anywhere. It is my word against theirs. Nothing to do. We left unhappy and disappointed. We got screwed by the oldest trick in the book. What is worse is that when you buy a used Toyota car, they give you a voucher for a free oil change. So we returned last month to Toyota Chambly and instead of costing nothing, it ended up costing 35$ to replace the air filter...Talk about adding insult to injury. I asked why this air filter was not replaced when we purchased the car (we drove 8000 km and the air filter should last 30000 km) and was told that it was still good back then. The clerk felt bad for me but his manager told me that 35$ is not a lot of money and that I should be able to pay for it. What a total scam. Chambly Toyota will attract you with low ball prices only to nickel and dime you afterwards. We have never returned since and we will be taking our business else where. More
