First time buyer, great experience Having never bought a car in my life I was scared, I was scared of getting ripped off, I was scared of being pressured and I was scared of regret. But Having never bought a car in my life I was scared, I was scared of getting ripped off, I was scared of being pressured and I was scared of regret. But I can say in all honesty I am so glad I went to this dealership first. They made me feel so welcomed and at ease that it made buying my first car easy. I wasn't buying new either and I was afraid they would try to pressure me into buying new. But our sales rep Shannon helped me with the exact car I was looking at from their website, while she did keep my options open to help me get the best deal I could, she never made me feel like I was making the wrong decision. I also don't know a lot about cars so she actually helped me out by answering questions I wasn't even aware I should be asking. I love my car, it was the best decision I made and I'm so glad that the people at capital dodge made this experience not nearly as scary as I thought it would be. When the time comes for me to upgrade I will definitely be returning to this dealership again. I highly recommend them! More

He kept me updated on my vehicle and when it would be ready for me to pick up. He explained all of the details of my car, as there were new features that I was not familiar with. As well, the car was so nice and clean. I bought my first car from Capital Dodge some 39 years ago. The Customer Service back in the 70's, was just as good which is why I am a repeat Customer. Thanks John and Capital Dodge. More

Above and Beyond This is the second time I have bought from Capital Dodge, more specifically from Jon Buckley. He is very understanding and easy to work with. Together This is the second time I have bought from Capital Dodge, more specifically from Jon Buckley. He is very understanding and easy to work with. Together with Ryan McMurrer he was able to get the purchase done quickly and to my absolute satisfaction. I highly recommend seeing Jon for your next vehicle purchase, and combined with Ryan's no give up financing, he will find you the deal you deserve . They have gone above and beyond to help my family out, and I really appreciate their effort. I will be back for my next vehicle to and refer some friends and family your way. More
Parts Scam I purchased a new Jeep Wrangler last summer, everything went well until I was visited by the parts manager, a fellow by the name of Ryiad ( i think th I purchased a new Jeep Wrangler last summer, everything went well until I was visited by the parts manager, a fellow by the name of Ryiad ( i think that is how it is spelled). He introduced himself and said that because I had just purchased a new vehicle i could do a one time purchase of any parts i wanted that day. I thought that that sounded good so ordered floor mats, tow hitch and mud flaps. All parts needed to be ordered and i paid with cc in advance. 3 days later parts were in and i picked them up, at pickup i asked for a receipt, simontaniously the manager and his younger assistant quickly stated that I had received the receipt the day that i ordered the parts. I then gave them the benefit if the doubt and left with my parts. Once home I began to install the flaps and while doing so I quickly wondered how they could have a value of $210.00. I know that most vehicle parts in Canada are overpriced in comparison to our neighbours to the south but still thought that this was a bit excessive. I searched for the receipt and realized I had not been provided with one. I called 3 other ottawa Chrysler dealers and was given quotes of between $48 and $52/pair of flaps and none said that there were any different qualities or options of flaps for the wrangler. I then called Capital Dodge on Paladium and it was Ryiad who answered the phone, I explained the situation and he proceeded to explain all of the different flaps that were available for my vehicle. This all seemed quite strange to me why all other dealers sold one flap, and that they had such a variety and that there did not seem to be anything very special about the product that I had purchased. I randomly called 3 other dealers and asked the same questions to verify my suspicion. I then went down to the dealership and asked Ryiad and is companion for a receipt for my purchase which by now was about two weeks from the date of purchase. His assistant kind of nervously searched threw about 5 or 6 receipts on a folder on the wall behind the parts desk. After a couple of minutes of him fumbling threw the few receipts i explained to him that it was a couple of weeks since purchase and it was probable that they had a few more than 5-6 parts sales in that time and perhaps he was wasting his time and mine continually searching threw the same few pages. He finished going threw them again and finally went into a back room and about 5 mins later returned with my receipt. I then explained my situation to him and he checked the prices on there computer. After a few mins he spoke in disbelief that he did not know how this could of happened. He then credited my cc the difference of approx $112.00 and I left the dealership never to return. I emailed the dealership a couple of times explaining what had happened and got no response. It still seems that it is customer beware at a lot of dealerships and garages no matter whether you are purchasing a vehicle, getting servicing or purchasing parts. More
Jan 25, 2013 I looked at a new 2013 Ram SXT 4x4 with Mike. I was happy with the truck and wanted $6000 for my trade-in. The best Mike could do was $2,500 for my trade. No deal was made and I left the de Mike. I was happy with the truck and wanted $6000 for my trade-in. The best Mike could do was $2,500 for my trade. No deal was made and I left the dealership. On Mar 12, 2013 Sebastien called me at home and invited me to their upcoming 2-day sale starting Friday Mar 15, 2013. I thanked Sebastien for calling but said we were too far apart on price so I would not be coming. After discussing price and trade-in value for the new truck I looked at on Jan 25, Sebastien asked if I would do the deal if he gave me the $6000 for my trade-in. I said yes. Sebastien put me on hold and went to talk to his sales manager. He came back and said yes they would give me $6000 for my trade-in. Sebastien also said the numbers on paper may look different but the bottom line would match the agreed price. We made arrangements for me to return to the dealer Friday morning Mar 15, 2013. When I got off the phone with Sebastien I told my wife that I had just bought the truck. On Friday morning Mar 15, 2013 I met with Sebastien. He showed me the truck and we road tested it. I believe the stock number was C13385, it was the truck I wanted. Sebastien then did up the offer to purchase worksheet with the numbers as discussed and agreed to on the phone, Mar 12,2013. I signed the offer. Sebastien brought the worksheet to his sales manager to sign off and complete the deal. I believe the sales manager's name was Stephen Velitchkovski. The sales manager came to see me without Sebastien. I thought he was coming over to congratulate me on the deal but instead the sales manager began explaining to me that the dealership had no control over manufacturer pricing and that he could not honour their advertised price of $23,998 which included a bedliner at no charge, freight and Federal AC tax. He then continued to say that the most he would give me for my trade-in was $3000. I tried to comment that we had already agreed to a price of $21,470. The sales manger continued talking and started ranting at me in a raised voice that there was no way he was doing this deal. If I wanted the truck I would have to pay over $26,000 for it. I was so flabergasted at the way I was mistreated by the sales manager that I simply asked for my keys, credit card and drivers license back and left the dealership. If I had known that dealerrater.ca existed back then I would certainly have filed this complaint back in Mar of 2013. I have retained the advertisements showing the pricing which Capital Chrysler Dodge would not honour. In Dec of 2013 I did buy a new 2014 Ram SXT 4x4 from another dealer. That is when I learned of this site to rate dealer experience. More
Absolutely the worst experience of my life. I went in there to purchase a Dodge Caravan but the salesman and his boss were so aggresive to push me to sign a deal that I just lost it. Their complete mode there to purchase a Dodge Caravan but the salesman and his boss were so aggresive to push me to sign a deal that I just lost it. Their complete mode of operation is to push their customers with onetime offer, valid on the spot to have them sign the deal. They don't provide all the answers, they are rude, they are condescending, they are belittling, they are basically bunch of xxxxxxxx who are like hyennas waiting for the weak to break down so that it can be devoured with out mercy. I repeatedly told them that I would need to bring in my wife to have her look at the van, but noooooo, can't do that since I would loose 2K from the deal they are ready to make me on the spot. What a rip off. I just walked off, and got a way better deal from the Metro Dodge on Richmond rd. More
I bought a jeep, sight unseen, from them as I am 6hrs away, and it was the only Gecko jeep we could find left. Got a great price from Jon. Matt picked up my family and I at the train station, and drove u away, and it was the only Gecko jeep we could find left. Got a great price from Jon. Matt picked up my family and I at the train station, and drove us back to the dealership. Great PR work, and a very friendly guy. We noticed a flaw in the paint, but Jon ordered touch up paint for us n/c. We stayed in Ottawa a couple of days (beautiful city, Jon helped us find a hotel) and after driving home, noticed there was no key for the wheel locks. I sent Jon an email, and got the key by purolator a few days later. The only other issue would be the guys who detailed the jeep missed a few spots,(the jeep was new, but built over a year prior) but overall a great experience. More
This occurred a couple of years ago, but the issue was never resolved to my satisfaction. I was taking my 2007 Jeep Wrangler to Capital Dodge for service since they were closer to my employer after I swit never resolved to my satisfaction. I was taking my 2007 Jeep Wrangler to Capital Dodge for service since they were closer to my employer after I switched jobs. I had it in for an issue related to the oil level warning which they incorrectly diagnosed. While it was in the noted that my front universal joints were going an could be replaced under warranty. I only had 4000km left to my warranty, so I said go ahead and order the parts and schedule the appointment. The following week the Jeep went back in to have the universals replaced. When I picked the vehicle up I noticed a 'grabbing' in the brakes when I applied them. When I got to work, I backed into my parking spot and quickly visually inspected the front end components. When I left work I got onto the highway and proceeded home. When I got off the highway and braked to slow, the vehicle locked up at 60 kph. When I released the brakes, everything returned to normal and the vehicle moved correctly. I used down shifting to time my approach to lights so I wouldn't have to use the brakes. When I arrived home, I found that one of the front callipers had not been correctly re-attached and the lower bolt went missing. So every time I braked the calliper would grab the rotor and then pivot up into the rim. The rim was destroyed, air was leaking from a huge gash in the rim. I had the vehicle towed back to the dealership and had to fight to get a reprimand placed on the mechanics file. When I got the vehicle back, I found that they had damaged the inner axle seal, which they denied and refused to fix. More
