Brian Mackie from Service rocks I decided to give Barrie Ford a try after a very poor and disappointing experience from the dealership I bought my car from. From the moment I spoke I decided to give Barrie Ford a try after a very poor and disappointing experience from the dealership I bought my car from. From the moment I spoke to Brian Mackie I knew I would be in good hands and taken care of. He is a true example of what real customer service is. He’s been with the dealership for over 20 years and you can tell he still loves the job. Brian listened to my concerns, got my car fixed and stayed in communication throughout the process. I also want to mention that the dealership has a very friendly vibe from just walking around. I highly recommend this dealership. More
Horrible service This is a long read but hopefully worth it. Since 2011 and I have purchased from Barrie Ford, Dominic 2011 F150 4x4 2011 Transit 2012 Mazda 5 This is a long read but hopefully worth it. Since 2011 and I have purchased from Barrie Ford, Dominic 2011 F150 4x4 2011 Transit 2012 Mazda 5 2011 Dodge Calibre 2011 F250 Van 2014 F150 4x4 2016 F150 4x4 2016 Escape My story begins when I called Dominic telling him that my 2014 F150 was riding like a cement truck. He said, don’t you worry, you drop it off and I will look after you. Ok, so made the appointment, let Dominic know that it was going in and arranged for a loaner. I left the truck for the day so they could test drive, investigate what ever they wanted but I needed it fixed. I live on a dirt road and the truck was bouncing off the road on corners with washboard. I explained in great detail to the service adviser and I was very clear that if you drive it down the streets of Barrie, rides fantastic but as soon as you drive it down a rough dirt road with washboard, you will find the issue. I was very clear about this. I returned at the end of the day to have them explain to me that the adviser drove the truck and could not find any issue with the ride. I asked, “did you take it down a dirt road like I asked?” NO I couldn’t find one. So extremely upset, I call Dominic who was all of a sudden missing in action. So off I went back to Parry Sound where I live, very, very upset that now I must continue driving this 2 year old (40k km) $50k truck with absolutely no resolution to the issue. I called Dominic and he said you should have gotten hold of me I would have made sure it was looked at properly but I was in a meeting. He said that perhaps it was because this truck had a trailer package and rides rough so maybe I should consider the new aluminum sport model. Desperate for a solution, I went for it. The 2016 F150 was a dream come true on the dirt road. I was so happy. About two months ago and 20k km on the new truck, the ride got really bad just like the last truck that was traded in prematurely. I called Dominic and he assured me this time, it would be dealt with 100%. He was going to look after this personally. This time, the very young adviser drove me over to my meeting and I had a long chat with him explaining what happened with the last truck and the exact issue with this truck and I am not buying a new one this time. I told him I needed fixed, I live an hour and half away and I cannot come back for a while. Explained must must must must take it down a dirt road with washboard and please please fix my truck. I got a call from him around 3:30, suggesting that I try Chris the service manager’s truck cause they ride the same. I asked “did you take it down a dirt road?” no “did you put it on the hoist?” no. I stopped the bs conversation and told him I am done with Barrie Ford and you people don’t care about anything but the sale and I hung up on him. I tried to get hold of Dominic but missing in action. When I went to pick up my keys to take my truck they told me the Chris the service manager was holding them so I would have to talk to him before he would release them. I told them I do not want to discuss this with anyone anymore, give me my keys. Instead I had to wait 10 minutes until Chris came out before handing me my keys told me in front of other customers and staff, “You will never speak to my staff in that tone again, got it?” (I did not curse swear, I simply said I am done with Barrie Ford and hung up.) I told him not to worry because my butt will never be back to Barrie Ford and I left with the same issue I went in with, AGAIN I finally got hold of Dominic via email, and same as last time, he was in a meeting and I should have gotten hold of him....... A few days later I called Peter the working partner and he listened and assured me something would be done. I told him I did not want to hear from Dominic since he was all talk and not much help. About two weeks later Dominic left me a voice message asking me to call him to see if we can get this issue resolved. That was the last I heard of Barrie Ford. I would also like to make it clear that I have only gone back to Barrie ford twice for service and you just read the two experience’s that I had. I took my Truck to an independent garage who said immediately its your shocks and it is going in this week to have them changed at my expense. This truck is one year old with 20k km on it. More
drivers are very nice/ courteous but..... The service side of this dealership is the root of my comment today. Very poor managing of this busy dealership has led to multiple delays with appointments being serviced, miss communications between clearly frustrated service advisors and clueless managers have resulted in frustrated customers and embarrassingly long wait times. Even as I write this I can see and hear multiple customers complaining, the two service advisors working and two managers sitting in their closed office appearing rather leisure in the body language..... perhaps a new business strategy/ model is in order..... or it may not be needed in weeks or years to come.... It It was my first and last time at this dealership. I made an appointment to drop off the vehicle at 9.00 am a week ago to get replacement key cut. Its a 1hour job. I told them that iwould just drop off the vehicle and pick it at the end of day. When I arrived there on the dat of appointment were about 8 vehicles lined up outside of the service bay waiting to get in. As I was in a hurry all i wanted to do was to just drop off the key and leave so i parked my vehicle outside and went inside to drop of the key with a service advisor. What I was inside was that out of the 6 or 7 advisors available only 1 had a customer that was being processed. The others were doing paperwork while cars were outside waiting to get in. After waiting 15-20 minutes an advisor asked me if she could help me. I told her that i had parked the car outside and wanted to leave the key with her, sign the document and leave. She refused to look after me saying that i should go outside and get in lineup with the other 8 cars before she could look after me. . During the 30 minutes that I had been waiting I noticed that only 2 cars were let into the bay and the line up outside was still long. I told her to cancel my appointment and walked out. I wont go back there anymore. It is an easy fix if they all of their advisors are checking in customer instead of doing paperwork. More

Sue B set up my appointment with Dominic Lizarro after asking me several questions one of them was are you interested in any other vehicles. I replied no just this one. They knew where I stood. Went in to see car on Saturday morning it was not there standard excuse"deal pending" I was upset. Dominic asked me if there was any other cars I was interested in. I told him no. Thanks for wasting my time. I drove to the back where they keep the used cars all the others on line were there except the one I wanted to see. This was a car for my daughter as a first vehicle. No respect for the customer's time. No call to inform me it was sold or whatever. Looked on line it was still listed for 2 more days before they removed it. I sent a email about my experience to Sue no reply nothing.. they really care I guess. I'm glad this lesson was learned before I buy my new truck. More
