I had an oil change scheduled at Harris Kia in Nanaimo. Upon taking my vehicle in, I was informed that all four tires needed to be replaced. My vehicle is a 2021 model with fewer than 30,000 km, so I found Upon taking my vehicle in, I was informed that all four tires needed to be replaced. My vehicle is a 2021 model with fewer than 30,000 km, so I found this claim highly questionable. They provided a photo of one tire showing weather damage (despite my request for photos of all four), but I never received the rest. I intended to replace the tires at another location, but I was told I would have to sign a waiver stating that, if I declined, it could affect my insurance coverage in the event of an accident. I asked to retain at least one of the original tires, but this was refused—I was not allowed to keep any of them. Later, I discovered that the tires were still under warranty, but Harris Kia kept the warranty tires and required me to purchase new ones. Unfortunately, the new tires were defective. They had internal wire separation, and it felt as though they were attempting to take advantage of me—particularly as a young woman—by selling me faulty, possibly old tires. Since then, I have been dealing with persistent shaking issues, which began immediately after the new tires were installed. I have had to have them balanced every 1–2 months for the past nine months with no resolution. Eventually, I took the vehicle to another Kia dealership. Their manager immediately noticed the issue by feeling the tires and confirmed it when the vehicle was put on a hoist—every tire had split wires. These tires had less than 10,000 km on them. Since the tires were purchased through Harris Kia, and the warranty is held there, I returned to them. On the drive there, the shaking was so severe I feared a tire might detach, causing a serious accident. Yet, their mechanic reported only a "slight wobble" and took no further action. This issue has been ongoing for nine months, and the same balancing procedures were repeated without success. I was charged another $180 for a diagnosis, despite specifically requesting the same hoist inspection the other Kia performed. Their top mechanic failed to identify the problem, and within 10 minutes of leaving, the shaking resumed. More

I had the most exceptional experience when I took my car in to be serviced! All of the women who helped me were incredible; they were open and honest and friendly and so non-judgemental about my lack of car in to be serviced! All of the women who helped me were incredible; they were open and honest and friendly and so non-judgemental about my lack of car knowledge. They were patient when explaining things to me, understanding, so thorough, and so compassionate. The work that was done on my car was phenomenal, they caught really dangerous problems that I wasn’t even aware of and they fixed them in a remarkably short time. This dealership is such blessing to find, I am so glad I have a place I can bring my car with such hardworking and trustworthy staff! More

Hi Dave,Just wanted to share our experience with you Hi Dave, Just wanted to share our experience with you over the last week. Last Friday, Susan and I were driving back from Comox to Parksville wh Hi Dave, Just wanted to share our experience with you over the last week. Last Friday, Susan and I were driving back from Comox to Parksville when our engine light came on. I said to Susan I would call Kia when we got home. As we approached Bowser, I got messages for Check Automatous Braking, Check Smart Cruise Control and 4 warning lights came on. We stopped at the Nile Creek beach access and turned the car off. I phoned the service department at 1:30PM. They said they could get me in at 3:25PM. When we pulled out of onto the old highway and went about 1/2 KM, a message “Turn off the engine” came on. I pulled over and restarted the car. It took Riley the better part of an hour to diagnose the problem as a faulty crankshaft sensor. Michelle advised me of the issue and said the car was OK to drive but if all the warnings lights started to flash, have the car towed in. She ordered a part and it would be 4-6 weeks before it arrived. The ride home was very rough and jerky and I had no power to go up the hill outside of Nanoose and the car slowed to 60kph with the petal to the metal. We didn’t go anywhere over the weekend until this past Wednesday when we had to go to Nanaimo. On the way, a message “Turn off the Engine” and “Check hybrid system” came on. After a restart we continued to Nanaimo and back home. Yesterday (Thursday) Susan was running errands around Parksville and twice had to restart the engine in the space of 1/2 KM. It unnerved her completely. When she got home I called Michelle and informed her the car was not drivable. She said to call roadside assistance and have the car towed in. I asked for a courtesy vehicle. She said she needed to see if one was available and would get back to me. Yes a vehicle was available. I made arrangements to get the car towed in and said I would be by today (Friday) around 1-ish to pick up the courtesy car. At 12:45 just before I left home, I got a call from Jacob to tell me that our car was ready to go. I was stunned. I had my neighbour drive me in. It turns out it was the camshaft sensor and not the crankshaft sensor. They snagged one from a 2022 model on the lot and installed it our our 2019. The car was washed and vacuumed and fully charged up. The ride home - wow - hadn’t had that sort of get up and go in several months. Anyway I just wanted to let you know that Susan and I were very pleased with how your team handled the whole experience and I want to express our gratitude and thanks to Michelle, MacKenzie, Jacob, Steve, Jeff and Riley for going above and beyond. I am sure others of your team had a hand in this and also express our thanks to them as well. More
