Got car back with damaged cooling system. While diagnosing DCT transmission problems, the technician broke a coolant reservoir return line just above the transmission. Snapped the metal outle While diagnosing DCT transmission problems, the technician broke a coolant reservoir return line just above the transmission. Snapped the metal outlet where the rubber hose connects. It was a clean break. Coolant was everywhere on the transmission side. The car overheated within about 3 miles after I left. I called the dealer and they blamed it to be high mileage. They also said transmission needs replacement and it's not the recall of the TCM. However if I drive the car in sport/manual mode it drives fine. The TCM seems to clearly be at fault in this situation since it can't shift the gears properly but that I can and it will drive normally with me in direct control. I've since bought another car from another manufacturer and will never deal with ford ever again seeing that there is no long term solution to something they've engineered and built but can't find a solution/permanent fix. Just replacing clutch packs in the car over and over prematurely is not a solution. I'm on my 5th transmission rebuild. Everything else works great except transmission. I use it to go to work and that's it. I don't trust the car to drive anywhere else. Especially pulling out into traffic and the car feels like it goes into neutral and then finds a gear and continues on is very unsettling. It doesn't jolt into gear...it just seems to not know what gear to shift into. More
