Dave Gibson started his career in the Automotive business back in 2005 in the service department based on a love of cars and throughout the years that love of cars has grown to the entire automotive business. In his spare time he enjoys spending time with his family at the campground in the summer and going on ATV rallies all over Nova Scotia as well as travelling South in the Winter.

Was disappointed in the service & they made it better My vehicle was suppose to get in yesterday for its booked appointment, I was upset when i was advised in the afternoon that they had no time to fit me My vehicle was suppose to get in yesterday for its booked appointment, I was upset when i was advised in the afternoon that they had no time to fit me in. I had dropped my vehicle off there in the early a.m. and was late for work after getting their shuttle to work. The shuttle advised that I wouldn't be able to get a ride back from work to pick up my vehicle 4pm or after which I work until 5. So i had to find a drive to go pickup my vehicle after work yesterday. Now how they fixed it. The service manager contacted me and promised me they would get my vehicle in for sure today and so i wouldn't be late for work for a second day they would get me a cab to work. Before even arriving at the dealership this morning the manger called me to make sure I was coming to drop off my vehicle and to make sure they didn't miss my vehicle being dropped off earlier. They called me a cab as soon as i dropped it off to work and gave me a taxi chit to get me to work on time. I had a call in less then 30 minutes with quote work to be done on my vehicle. They have definitely satisfied me and I was very thankful for their understanding of my frustration yesterday. More

Service Appointment I had an appointment made at the dealership for oil change and brake maintenance for 10am. I was told it would take about 2hrs to complete and decided I had an appointment made at the dealership for oil change and brake maintenance for 10am. I was told it would take about 2hrs to complete and decided to wait for my vehicle. At 11:20am I decided to stretch my legs and go for a walk and seen my vehicle in the lot. So I thought service was completed. After asking the question at the service desk I found out it was not taken in yet. You can imagine my reaction. I travel an hour to have my vehicle serviced and my wife and I make a day of it. So we have plans to do other things and not sit at the dealership for longer than the expected service time, hence why I make the appointment. I can live with a half hour but an hour and 20 minutes is unsatisfactory. I believe this dealership needs to reevaluate their way of booking service appointments. This has happened my last 2 appointments at this dealership. The first one I thought was a fluke, but I guess not. More

Great Service Once Again! Must Read! This morning I had a starting issue with one of my vehicles - my 2011 4dr Jeep. Irony is, I had just had the starter replaced. So here I am in the pou This morning I had a starting issue with one of my vehicles - my 2011 4dr Jeep. Irony is, I had just had the starter replaced. So here I am in the pouring rain with a booster pack hooked to the battery and no go. The vehicle would not turn over and the lights were flickering like a bad connection. Needless to say I called and ripped into the dealership with the full belief it was something on their end from the starter replacement a few weeks ago. In less than 30 minutes I get a call back from the Service Manager Dave Gibson who I had dealt with before. I apologized for my initial call and stated I needed this vehicle for the weekend. This happened on a Friday morning. Sensing my frustration and knowing I was a long time customer Dave simply said "we will take care of it" and to "cancel the tow" I had coming. The Jeep was in front of my house so I left my keys handy and left for work. When I came home at 3ish (early day) the Jeep was gone. I received a call about an hour later stating that it as fixed. Some corroded wire ends and a new battery was the issue. I went down to the Bayers Lake location, paid a modest bill (way less than what I expected) and had the rig back in my driveway at 5pm! They gave me the battery at almost cost. Now I am sure this doesn't get done every day. This was a department manager that understood my frustration and did what he said he would do. I admit that I am the most skeptical person you can deal with in business of any sort - and especially with service departments. But I have to say - these guys have been outstanding! LC More

2013 Town and Country Lemon We bought our 2013 Town and Country 3 years ago and it's been an absolute devastating experience. First we were sold the van with the dealer telling u We bought our 2013 Town and Country 3 years ago and it's been an absolute devastating experience. First we were sold the van with the dealer telling us that the van had all these features including blue tooth, lumbar adjusted seating etc. Once we bought it, it had nothing. We had to argue to get the blue tooth. They settled on giving us 250$ worth of gas cards to settle the mistake made. We have had the van in over 7 times with the right sided door sticking with humidity. Each time they state there is nothing wrong. After a year of owning it, the left engine head had to be replaced. 2 years later the engine light came on and we had to have it towed in. Paid 1000$ dollars to have coils and springs replaced. 3 days later the battery light came one with engine light and they said the alternator is gone. I am so upset as when you buy a vehicle for your family, you expect reliality. We have had none of that with this and feel we have been sold a lemon. More

A pleasant surprise My first service appointment, earlier this year, left me feeling unimpressed. No big issue, but I had a "piece of mind inspection" on a 2010 Journey My first service appointment, earlier this year, left me feeling unimpressed. No big issue, but I had a "piece of mind inspection" on a 2010 Journey with 50K and would have liked a checklist or some kinda of report....you know...for my "piece of mind". I didn't plan on returning, but I started to experience engine noise and wanted an experience Dodge technician to diagnose the issue, and this dealer is closest to my home There was some confusion as to what I wanted, but Service Manager Dave Gibson sorted it out. Seems there was an significant issue. I was aware the vehicle was past the 5 year warranty, so expected to pay the full shot. Because of the low kilometers, Dave was able to offer a goodwill gesture from Chrysler Canada that covered the cost of the parts. A pleasant surprise...to say it mildly. It was an experience above and beyond my expectations. From unimpressed to wow! Thank you More

Happy Camper Back in March, we purchased a 2015 Dodge Grand Caravan, (a loaner with less than 100km on it). We bought the van to tow a small hybrid trailer. Once w Back in March, we purchased a 2015 Dodge Grand Caravan, (a loaner with less than 100km on it). We bought the van to tow a small hybrid trailer. Once we got the trailer home and fully loaded it exceeded the recommended towing capacity for the Caravan. We found ourselves in a bit of a dilemma. I contacted Rick Keseluk, sales consultant, to express my concerns. He suggested that we come in and let them do what they do best. They took the Caravan back on trade and gave us top dollar for it and got us into a Jeep Cherokee Sport that is more than capable of towing our trailer at a price that was within our budget. The folks at Halifax Dodge took what was becoming a very stressful situation and turned it into a pleasant one. We found the staff we dealt with to be concerned, caring and professional. I would recommend that anyone looking to purchase a new vehicle to look no further than Halifax Chrysler Dodge. More
