I have revised my original 5 star rating because I did not have a good experience with my second car purchase at this dealer with the same sales person. The review is based on my second car purchase as th not have a good experience with my second car purchase at this dealer with the same sales person. The review is based on my second car purchase as the first car purchase was very good. At time of delivery, the sales person gave me an updated Carfax that showed a lien on the car that I was buying, contrary to what was on the Carfax originally posted / advertised with the vehicle. He said the lien would be taken care of, not to worry about it. He offered me no explanation why the lien was on the Carfax. He said he would send me an updated Carfax within the week showing that the lien had been removed. I believed him as Budds is a stalwart source in the Oakville / Auto community and would not screw their customers - this is why I bought from them x 2. Unfortunately, the sales person did not send me a new Carfax. Fraught with anxiety about carrying a lien, and after consultation with OMVIC, I decided to purchased a new Carfax with my personal funds and spent $79.04 to verify that the lien was off the car. At the time of signing the sales contract, I was told that I had to purchase a Ride Green certified warranty for $369 + tax for tires and rims even though I protested and said I did not want it. Sales person said it was a condition of the sale, like it or not. He told me I had no choice in the matter. After taking delivery of the car, I reviewed the warranty documents and found out that I could cancel the warranty but with a penalty of $25. Not sure why sales person did not tell me this! Advised by management that the $25 would be waived at cancellation because of the personal money I spent to correct paint problems (see below). The warranty was cancelled - it was not an easy process. Unfortunately, the $25 was never waived. Sales person charged me $64 to transfer my plates even though MTO says it's only $32. Sales person acknowledged the discrepancy, could not explain the additional surcharge ,but explained that this is how it's done at Budds. Not sure why I am being surcharged and why the sales person can't explain? At time of delivery the vehicle's exterior was an absolute mess. Exterior paint had bird poop, bug spots, sap remnants. Driver seat was soiled with a stain. Sales person knew how very particular I was about exterior conditioning and advised me that the car would be in pristine condition at delivery. (just like the first vehicle I purchased - it was immaculate). As mentioned...it was not pristine! I was told that the clean up person was overwhelmed with too many cars to clean up and that my car did not get the attention it deserved even though it was tagged "high priority". Sales manager offered to have car assessed by body shop manager and based on that assessment potentially have paint reconditioned / cleaned up at a later date, but I had to work around their schedule because they were very busy. I declined the suggestion as I no longer trusted the process or what was promised, and took the car elsewhere to clean up the paint and steam clean seat - paid a total of $339 out of my pocket. Such a disappointing experience purchasing a second car from this dealer. Never again. More
