There's a legendary tire story regarding Nordstrom that illustrates how to do customer service the right way. Unfortunately, NoHo VW appears to 'talk the talk', but refuses to 'walk the walk'. The fail illustrates how to do customer service the right way. Unfortunately, NoHo VW appears to 'talk the talk', but refuses to 'walk the walk'. The fails included 1) a major misdiagnosis (e.g., they claimed my ECM was bad) that would have made my car only operable for local driving - potentially for months - as a new part is unavailable nationwide with no ETA, 2) a refusal to acknowledge, no less reimburse me for the misdiagnosis - and let's not even get into the many hours spent searching for a used part and driving to my VW dealer of record (I recently returned to the Pioneer Valley) 90 miles away multiple times, 3) a complete unwillingness to help resolve the problem using a used part (same part #, same model, year, and configuration) - something VW Westborough was happy to do - an action that led to a different (and successful) diagnosis (it was a bad fuel pump) and had my car fully functioning within 18 hours, 4) and a complete lack of follow-up from everyone who was sent detailed emails, including the Service Advisor, the Service Manager, and the owner of the dealership. As someone who has owned high-end (Passat W8, Passat 3.6L AWD, CC 3.6L AWD) Volkswagen cars for 20 years I've never had such a horrific experience with a VW Dealership - and the management at NoHo VW don't seem to care.
