Terrible service and no ownership of mistake. - Canada1970

Terrible service! Purchased a Buick Verano from another dealer and took car in with oil consumption problem while covered under warrantee. Found out there was a bulletin from General Motors describing that exact problem and recommending an oil drip test then a piston and ring replacement if necessary. Dealer changed the oil and did not complete test. Bayview said there was no bulletin. Told by the mechanic to monitor oil consumption. Took car back in after problem continued and was told the warrantee was three weeks expired therefore we were liable for cost of piston and ring replacement. Called General Motors and they claim dealership is claiming that they did not service or diagnosis problem. Since we did not have to pay for the oil change there was no paper trail regarding the problem before warrantee ended. Bayview refused to admit we did make an appointment and car was seen regarding the concern. Now they want us to pay for a drip test, piston and rings exactly what the bulletin recommended. Completely unethical.

TL:DR version: - My experience at Bennett has been the worst experience I've had at any dealership over 15 years and 8 vehicles. It's not just a single employee that maybe misrepresents the business' core values, it's apparent that this poor behaviour is consistent across multiple employees and multiple departments. - Have no clue what they're selling or servicing (and they are apparently Cadillac certified) - Talk xxxx about their customer's behind their back (on dashcam) - Engage in shady business practices by trying to deny warranty claims to make more money - Engage in unethical practices by skipping the diagnostics and advising that parts need replaced especially when they are expecting the customer to pay out of pocket - I tried to work with the dealership directly but after they admitted to not performing proper diagnostics, they stopped returning my emails - My part was eventually swapped without issue and was covered under warranty (after escalating to GM Canada) - Dealerships typically get paid 1.5-2x more money if the customer pays out of pocket as warranty work is invoiced at a reduced wholesale rate. It seems this dealership tries to prioritize making the customer pay out of pocket along with skipping proper diagnostics. They seem to prefer troubleshooting by swapping parts at the customer expense - I truly feel bad for people with lack of experience to question the dealerships work. Most people trust that the dealership performs ethical work and will have your best interests in mind, which is not the case from my experience

Brought 2021 new Cadillac Escalade in for first oil... - Unhappy Customer

Brought 2021 new Cadillac Escalade in for first oil change. Service department said it would be 1.5 hours. I returned closer to 2 hrs later and car wasn't even touched. No phone call, no courtesy and when I asked for my car back, they just said sorry? No follow-up, no phone call, zero courtesy. I will not return to this dealership- ever. Period!

Be careful of the service. They super inflate repair charges. While I can’t prove it I think they sabotage my engine in hopes I would return to get something serviced for a problem they probably caused. A local garage found the problem within 5 minutes. Whereas they told me to comeback if the code comes back.

I would not recommend this dealership for service. Bought this vehicle used from a different GM dealership with 2 year extended warranty which runs out in another 2 months. Drove the vehicle for less than 5000km and had to have air conditioning recharged. Just over a year later and less than 10,000km later I had to have the air conditioning recharged again. Out almost $1000 with no leak found by the dealership. Will never buy another GM vehicle again.

I brought my car there to do a coolant system flush and to get a diagnosis on the heating issues, they said the thermostat needed to be replaced, I went to another mechanic and got the thermostat replaced and still no heat at this point because I was charged for the diagnosis at Cowan I brought it back to tell them that I replaced the thermostat for nothing, they said then should be the leak from the radiator. I talked to Peter hoping to get some decent explanation here and he said the same thing that I have no choice but to replace the radiator at that point I left because I sensed there wasn’t no intention to help me out and they wanted to squeeze more money out of my pocket. This was disappointing and unprofessional I spent hundreds of dollars and still have no heat. I would never go back to this place and I won’t recommend it to anyone.

I have brought my 2016 Silverado in many times for rough idle and stalling. It only had 90,000 km at the time. They told me I needed to change injectors, it was not covered under warranty and I paid $1400. It still had the same issue when I picked it up. The service manager told me I needed to put in a bottle of engine cleaner that they sell, ok I did that still runs the same. I went back a third time and it turns out the truck needed a new cam shaft and other parts that was about $7000 of work. Ok that was covered under warranty. Now fast forward 8 months I am still having issues. They told me I needed a new cam shaft wiring harness, again not covered. OK I paid the $800, I asked for the old part back and there is no signs of corrosion as they claim. The truck has 98,000 km on it now and it has had $10,000 of engine work done to it. I drive a Silverado and my wife drives a Tahoe. We were planning on upgrading this year. I guess they want to lose $150,000 in sales due to the poor service and refusing to admit the part was damaged by them. I am 100% sure they nicked the harness while changing the camshaft. I will bring it for an independent review. It is not about the $ it is about the truth for me. I did fight with GM Canada for 6 months and got back $600 for an injector. Not impressed with this place at all. The service manager called me and told me the job would cost $800 but he would "help me out" with the price due to what I had been through, well the bill came to $766, what a great discount...

Service did an oil change that was not mention and want $322 as still have 4,000 km left and 2 months left. Was supposed to do just the recall that were required. There was no mention on the paperwork about service and should see it was not do for the truck. Now i have no truck because of their screw up. Biggest mistake I have ever made buying my truck there from day one it has been problem first I had a dent and scratch on it the first day I got I brought it back and they fixed it NOT I got it back with more scratches and my cluster fogged out to the point where I couldn’t see my Km while I drove at night 2nd week my transmission started slipping and all Chris could tell me is the car has to get used to my driving xxxxxxxxx other people who have the same truck have no complaints I have had the same problem for nine months now still have all the scratches my brakes are acting up on me locking I almost got into an accident because my truck stopped in the middle of traffic my emergency brake locked while I was driving I would tell Chris that and he just kept looking at me like I was an alien 👽 with snakes in my hair went in for an oil change and they scratched my truck some more when I called out Chris about it all he could say stop being so dramatic mind you this is my first brand new truck and I wanted to keep it new as long as I could but from the first day I have been cheated out of the experience of purchasing a new truck
