If you want your time wasted and your vehicle repeatedly mishandled, go to Gauthier Cadillac GMC.
My truck has been there half a dozen times in the past year for major transmission warranty work, and somehow the issues keep getting worse, not better.
Not once was I offered a courtesy vehicle. I was told they “aren’t a thing since COVID,” which is interesting considering every other dealership in Winnipeg still offers them. Apparently that policy only disappeared at Gauthier.
After my most recent repair, the check engine light came back on in under 12 hours. I took it to Birchwood GMC and was told the previous repair wasn’t even done properly. At this point, they’re basically just loosening bolts and hoping for the best.
Appointments don’t mean anything here. You show up on time just to be told they’re “backed up,” then wait days for a diagnosis like that’s a normal process.
Darlene, the service manager, repeatedly brushed off concerns with “don’t worry, you have lots of warranty left,” which is a great line if your goal is to avoid actually fixing anything.
There’s a myriad of other issues I could get into, but I’ll save that for my first novel.
At this point, my truck has spent so much time in their shop it should qualify for a loyalty program. Unfortunately, the only thing I’ve earned is zero confidence in their ability to fix anything properly.
Save yourself the time, the hassle, and the repeat visits… go literally anywhere else.
