I recently visited Mitsuhashi (Go Langley) Toyota to purchase a 2023 Toyota Venza, priced at $41,700. After taking a test drive and liking the car, I was excited to finalize the deal. However, what should have been a smooth experience turned into the worst car-buying experience of my life, thanks to their finance team’s disrespectful and unprofessional behavior.
From the start, their approach was demeaning and condescending. They asked intrusive and irrelevant questions like "What do you do for a living?" and "How much do you make per training?"—as if trying to belittle me instead of conducting a professional transaction. When I made an offer for the vehicle, which had been sitting unsold at their dealership for 88 days, they mocked me and accused me of ‘playing games’ instead of engaging in a fair negotiation.
When I inquired about the trade-in value of my car, they undervalued it by $2,000, clearly offering an unfair deal. To make matters worse, when discussing interest rates from a competing dealership, they openly acknowledged that customers who agreed to a slightly higher rate were unknowingly allowing the dealership to pocket the extra money.
The finance manager’s attitude was the final straw. Instead of handling the situation professionally, he sarcastically said ‘Good luck’ in the most condescending way possible. To top it off, when we left the room, their finance guy literally laughed at us. This is how they treat their customers—with zero respect and complete disregard for the experience they provide.
My wife was with me throughout the process, and I can’t even begin to explain how bad and humiliated she must have felt. What should have been an exciting moment for us—buying a new car—was completely ruined by their arrogance and lack of professionalism.
I ultimately canceled my deal and will never return to this dealership—no matter what car they sell in the future. If you are considering buying from Mitsuhashi (Go Langley), I strongly urge you to be extremely cautious. They have no problem draining your pockets while making you feel like they’re doing you a favor.
If anyone doubts my experience, I encourage you to ask for their sales recording—their actions speak for themselves
