I did my change oil service on 21st January 2025 at Honda Red Deer and after the service was done I received a recommendation notice that my Honda Pilot 17 needs the following: 1. Brake system flush 2. Replace front brake pads and rotors - 3mm rotors to thin to machine 3. Replace rear brake pads and rotors - 2mm to thin to machine And today February 11, 2025 I did a second opinion by asking another Honda Service to check my brake pads and rotors and the inspection revealed that the brake pads and rotors are 6mm front and rear. I would like the management of Honda Red Deer to look into this case and see if the service personnel gave me a premature recommendation for an earlier replacement of my brakes pads and rotors (front and rear). This seemed to be an unfair practice of giving a misleading information to its long time client for 13 years.

My wife and I had to bring our civic in for some recall work. We were greeted quickly, and treated very professionally through the whole process. The service advisor educated us on the maintenance schedule for our vehicle and when to expect specific items to become due. We did not feel pressured to complete any of the maintenance but appreciated the knowledge and time spent with us. We ended up catching our vehicle up on any due maintenance and had the vehicle back in timely manor. Thanks Sherwood Honda!

The service department is superior. Ziad, Shannon and Dean are always so approachable and very friendly. The service department really helped me out last week. I was sitting in my car for about an hour with the radio on and talking on the phone. The battery died and it was soon time for me to pick up my son. I was close to Honda so they quickly came to me and boosted my car. This is so appreciated! Thank you.

The service is incredible. I had my front driver-side redone after I was side-swiped (which was all great) and then there was a bad shake when I drove above 100k. I took it back in and they got it into the shop immediately. It turned out it was just dirt buildup but they cleaned it up, re-balanced the tires, adjusted the alignment, and corrected tire pressure. Oh, and my window had come off the guides (not related to the accident) and they put it back on. All of it for free. These guys stand by their work and really seemed to care.

Terrible experience getting service. Supposed to get free oil changes for as long as I own my vehicle. No funny business, no fine print, no mileage limitations, no extra service required. That was my contract and agreement. To get it in writing, already they start their scam, their squeezing. I finally got a slip of paper....don't worry, our service department will be there. No way. They resist heavily when you go in for your FREE oil change. I've tried to address the issue, they just stonewall...squeeze a little more. Last time the idiot general sales manager makes a ridiculous point about how services cost money. Ridiculous. Then the crybaby runs away, didn't listen to a word. Even worse, moron service manager Derek. Just a straight lying, cheating xxxxxx. As dumb as he is greasy. Doesn't listen to my agreement, just stonewalls. Does nothing for me. Dealership typical liars. They don't honor agreements. Derek the Moron tells me free oil changes don't make good business sense. Yeah, I guess you would've preferred not to make that deal....but you did! And I'm going to buy 25 more cars in my life. Now it will never be Honda and not from this cheating dealership. Does that make good business sense you idiots? Terrible scammers, nothing more.

My 2007 Honda Element developed random misfires on - KingFisher

My 2007 Honda Element developed random misfires on multiple cylinders. I replaced the spark plugs and coil packs to no avail. Decided to take to GP Honda as I wanted someone who would have experience on working on my motor and was willing to pay premium price for their expertise. They diagnosed the problem as being a stretched timing chain that was throwing my timing out and so it would need to be replaced. After waiting a month and a half for parts(Supply Chain Issues) I received a text on Thursday Feb.16, 2023 that parts had arrived and they would be starting on it tomorrow. No call on Friday, Saturday, (Monday was Holiday), Tuesday or Wednesday. On Thursday Feb 23, 2023 I received a message that they are still waiting on parts. I missed their call on Friday and so on Saturday I called in to be told that my car is now back together but that I now have a bent valve. I met with B.B. the Service Manager on Monday to discuss. I asked if they had put a bore scope down the cylinder. They had not. When I asked why not he had no answer. I asked to see my old parts and was told they had been thrown out. Agreed to remove head to confirm valve problem. Then I suggested that first I wanted a bore scope to go down first to see if anything was visible. Low and behold cylinder 4' s exhaust valve has a large chip missing. As my Honda Element is an interference fit engine, the first thing they should have checked was that the valves where okay due to the trimming being off. The simple bore scope test would have done that. As a customer satisfaction discount of 15% it dropped my bill to $1900.00 for new timing chain and associated parts on an engine that is now headed to the scrape pile. Open opening my hood I noticed that none of the parts they had worked on had been cleaned either. That is what professional shops do. So disappointed and when I voiced my displease I was told that if I was given any more discount that they would be losing money. I asked about the $1900 that I was losing and got a shrug of the shoulders. So unprofessional. I will never return.

Excellent Customer Service that exceeded my expectation! My SUV needed major engine overhaul and another dealer misdiagnosed the issue. The leadership of Steve V., Assistant Team Leader, Service Department at Okotoks Honda, in resolving this issue was exemplary. Kudos to his clear and concise communication I was able to understand the complex technical issues and applied mitigation strategy for the corrective action.

We had our Honda Pilot repaired in their shop and followed advice from their service dept. besides the huge cost the car darn near caught fire within 200 km of leaving their shop. Stuck on the road they would not accept any responsibility or offer to help when we explained it was an oil leak issue from the tappet cover in which was part of their repair setting the valve clearance. After much debate and frustration we had our car towed by Honda Canada to the closest dealer and the repaired the previous repair gone bad. The repair was not covered by Sun Valley Honda but was directly caused by Sun Valley Honda. They absolutely do not stand behind their work and treat their customers like they are idiots. Terrible. Won’t go back and wouldn’t recommend. The dealer who finally repaired our Car was absolutely awesome to deal with.

For the last few visits at Village Honda, my Service Advisor has been Aidan McIntaggart. I am truly impressed at his handling of my car issues at those instances. I have never before had a service advisor that is so technically knowledgeable. To add to that, the listening skills, customer service attitude, personable demeanor, pleasant and courteous mannerism, attention to detail, follow-up and closing – it is difficult to find the blend of all those qualities in the correct balance that Aidan possesses indeed. He made sure that I was fully satisfied before I left their service shop each time. He takes the time to explain about the different details of the service performed on my car and why they were necessary rather than just straight-facedly quoting/reading those out of the work-ticket. And at the closing, I do not feel ‘pressurized’ into making further commitments for a future service event; just a sincere reminder for only the crucial service events is what I am given – just the way I prefer it to be. Hope he is going to be my dedicated service advisor for the next little while… also, wishing him all the best.
