So, a perennial problem with the Metro Ford dealership in - ngretener
So, a perennial problem with the Metro Ford dealership in Calgary is their inability to properly schedule appointments. I commented on this in the past and had assurances they would work to fix the problem, but no such luck.
If you make an appointment for same-day service, don’t expect it to be honoured. They chronically overbook. The norm, through my experience, is that they will often keep your car overnight, which can really play havoc with your own schedule.
The maddening think is their notification system, where you get bombarded through the day with updates such as (after noon for a car that was brought in at 9 am) “Your car is not yet in the service bay, but its eighth in line…” followed by messages over the hours where you are “…fourth in line”….”second in line”…and then, the final blow, at around 5:45 pm “We will not be able to get to your car today…”. In fact, on my appointment yesterday, I got no responses after the first update—nothing to tell me the car would be held overnight. Had to call the next day to find out what was happening.
It all reminds me of that Seinfeld segment on “Reservations”. “Yes, Mr. Seinfeld, we have your reservation, we just don’t have your car.” Seinfeld “I don’t think you understand what a reservation is.”
I don’t think Metro Ford understands what an appointment is.
