Good afternoon John, We appreciate all comments, positive or negative. It helps us improve business practices and avoid situations like these in the future, so thank you for taking the time to leave us with this review. We wanted to clarify some information provided to you that seems to have been misinterpreted based off of your review. First of all, we understand that your vehicle is only driven during spring/summer months on the highway, but the severe weather maintenance schedule is not purely directed at extreme cold and does cover a variety of different factors that can be found in your owners manual in section 7 page 8 and 24. We believe some of these factors would apply to your vehicles driving habits. Canada is also considered a severe weather climate (dictated by Kia Canada). All maintenance schedules we recommend are only performed under owners approval, including oil changes. As a Kia franchise we are also bound to inform Kia owners the recommended maintenance schedule especially when a comprehensive warranty is concerned (which applies to yourself), as not completing regular service may contribute to premature failure of particular components and/or may result in warrant-able repairs being declined. The discrepancies found between your owners manual and the maintenance schedule/documentation we provided you vary due to the fact that there are thousands of different combinations of possible services and additives that can be performed, and are recommended, that are not detailed in the owners manual. What we provided you was a more in-depth breakdown of Kia's recommended service maintenance schedule. Lastly to clarify, our service manager stating that the 4,000 km policy did not exist is correct, as all recommended maintenance for a severe climate begins at 6,000 km. We apologize for coming across as belittling and condescending, this is not how we wish to conduct business. As you can probably understand, we want to make sure every customer is an informed customer and that's simply what we were trying to do here. We appreciate your feedback and past business, but hope you still have faith in the Kia/Hyundai brand moving forward as both are truly well manufactured vehicles.
