Went to buy a car and they brought me to the auxiallary lot without mentioning the car had a severe accident on it, would have not even bothered wasting the 30 minutes to go look at it (salesman was also on the phone half the time). Second visit was for warranty repairs on a car I bought at a different dealer. They used the strategy of throwing parts at the problem and then gave me back the car and the problem was still there... They take zero accountability and say they’re not responsible because their “Pre-Delivery inspection” didn’t show the problem but well within 100 kilometres I had barely driven my car how is it possible to have a problem so serious right after I receive it. Even after that they reimburse nothing and take no responsibility saying everything was clear when it left the facility. I cannot believe this is how we got treated by them. They were always there when we buying the car but after the car was sold something they’re on day off something busy sometimes short staff. It is so frustrating. Please do not buy your vehicle here. He had assured me that certain fixes on the car would be done and was not done on the day of pick up. He didn’t have a good understanding of the history of the car when asked questions about it (I.e., how many owners). Quite disorganized with his follow-ups and sending back information that I had requested with him. Overall not a good experience here. More

My experience with this dealership has been marked by misrepresentation, non-disclosure of material facts, safety hazards, and coercive sales practices, all of which I believe violate the Motor Vehicle D misrepresentation, non-disclosure of material facts, safety hazards, and coercive sales practices, all of which I believe violate the Motor Vehicle Dealers Act and consumer protection standards. Brake Failure & Aftermarket Parts (Undisclosed) Shortly after purchase, the brakes failed unexpectedly, creating a major safety hazard. Upon contacting the dealership, I was told the brakes were aftermarket parts and not covered under warranty. At no point was I informed that the vehicle contained non-Honda parts, despite assurances of a “100-point inspection” and Honda-certified condition. This is a serious omission and misrepresentation. Undisclosed Exterior Damage & Improper Repairs The vehicle was parked in a tight lot, preventing me from completing a full inspection. The sales representative assured me there was no damage. After purchase, I discovered multiple dents and scratches. While some were repaired, several remain unresolved. During body shop work, blue paint was tracked inside the vehicle and has never been cleaned. This reflects failure to disclose material damage and careless repairs. Coercion for Positive Review Before releasing the vehicle, the dealership’s “coordinator” pressured me into leaving a positive online review. This coercive behavior raises concerns about the integrity of the dealership’s practices and misleads future consumers. Airbag SRS Defect – Refusal of Warranty Coverage In December 2024, the airbag SRS error light illuminated. The dealership dismissed the defect as “rodent damage” and denied warranty coverage under my Honda Plus plan. I maintain my vehicle in a very high state of cleanliness, and rodent damage is highly improbable. This defect predates my ownership and should have been caught during inspection. Despite this, the dealership quoted me $9,526.92 for repairs—an absurd cost considering the safety implications and their failure to disclose pre-existing issues. Denial of Independent Inspection & Test Drive At the time of sale, I was not permitted to bring the vehicle to my own mechanic for inspection nor allowed a proper test drive. I relied entirely on the dealership’s representations of quality and safety, which have since proven false. Failed Resolution Attempts On March 19, Whitby Oshawa Honda advised that the SRS light malfunction was due to “rodent damage” and that the cost to repair the damage was $9,526.92 and not covered under warranty. The rodent damage was severe, and I informed them that I did not have any rodents at my property. For rodents to completely chew through wiring is highly improbable. The defect clearly predated my ownership and indicates a failure on the dealership’s part to properly inspect and address the problem before selling the vehicle to me. This defect not only jeopardizes my safety but represents yet another failure of transparency and accountability on the part of the dealership and Honda. Furthermore, I was not allowed to test drive the vehicle or bring it to my mechanic for inspection. On March 20, 2024, I emailed Honda Canada requesting that they honour their warranty for such a critical safety issue. Honda Canada responded to my complaint but sided with the dealership in refusing to repair the vehicle. On March 23, 2024, I issued a formal demand notice directly to Whitby Oshawa Honda. To date, I have received no resolution or meaningful response. Oh and Trevor is the absolute worst! Avoid this "STEALERSHIP" at all costs! More

Do not buy a car hear if you want to save yourself some headaches or end up stranded. Our experience with Whitby Honda, specifically with Sales Manager Trevor Carew and Salesperson Suhail Khan, was very di headaches or end up stranded. Our experience with Whitby Honda, specifically with Sales Manager Trevor Carew and Salesperson Suhail Khan, was very disappointing. Vehicles sold here come with defects, and once the paperwork is signed, the sales manager will do everything possible to shift the blame. Read other negative reviews and you will see a pattern, we wish we had before going here and now regret it. What happened: Whitby Honda sold us a vehicle with a faulty battery that caused a serious safety issue, refuses to admit this so they don’t have to pay for replacement. We purchased a 2024 Honda HR-V Hybrid sold as Certified Pre-Owned from Whitby Honda. Meaning the dealership provided their certification to ensure there is no issues. Within two weeks, the car developed an electrical issue due to the faulty battery they had put, the car was shifting from Park to Neutral on its own and refusing to shut off, a major safety risk. Not to add, my dad had to wait 3+ hours early morning after a night shift in -30C temperatures because car would not shut down. How it was handled: We had the car towed to another dealer who confirmed Whitby Honda had installed a faulty battery before selling (provided test report with codes for bad battery). Despite providing a battery test report to Whitby Honda, Sales Manager Trevor Carew refused responsibility, questioned whether we caused the damage, and declined to replace the battery. They did their own generic battery test and say there is no issue which is hard to believe when another our second opinion form another Honda dealership has already confirmed that the battery acted abnormal for a new battery. We were even told not to bring the car back at Whitby Honda or do business with them. Outcome: We are now replacing the battery at our own cost for safety concerns. Once the sale was completed, customer service disappeared. It seem the“Certified” label provided by Whitby Honda offered no real protection or accountability and was just used to upcharge us for something we could have bought off Marketplace for a lot cheaper. Will be filing a complaint with Honda Canada and OMVIC and will not be doing my business here. The root cause of the safety issue was the faulty battery which Honda Dealership sold our certified car with and now does not want to take accountability. This was clear negligence on Whitby Honda which they refused and sales manager constantly tried to put the blame on us, the customer for the issue. It became clear that once the sale is completed, customer service at Whitby Honda no longer matters. I have since spoken with several people who visited this dealership and I found out they initially chose not to proceed due to how pushy and untrustworthy it felt. Upon sharing this story with my friends I found out one of my friends had also spoken to Trevor in the summer last year. He acted in the same as he did with my parents and was trying to finalize the deal the same day trying to get the deal done without really addressing their questions. My friend had found Trevors behaviour odd at the time and decided not to proceed with the dealership for the better. Only if I had discussed with my friends before coming to this dealership my family could have avoided this issue. Beware of the positive reviews as well, as these are forced. Customers are pushed to leave good reviews immediately after purchase (in our case the sales person Suhail even offered to write the review fro my parents on their behalf. My parents fell for their sales tactics like anyones parents would) Only after the sale you realize that the deal was not worth it once issues start appearing. Will not be doing business with this dealership again and strongly advise others to proceed with caution. More

Had to get it towed back to dealership at her own cost then is told by dealership it’s undriveable and it will cost $2700 to fix. You would think they would have covered the cost or at the very least covered the cost of labour. Do not buy a vehicle from them very shady. More
