Personnel are great. The people and work are fine. Although I make an appt for a specific thing I always have to wait at intake and give the same information again. I ha The people and work are fine. The place needs a coat of paint and the staff's chairs are broken and tattered. Makes me wonder: if Honda West can't maintain their own facility, how good is the maintenance they are doing on my vehicle? More
Personal touch par excellence I went to Honda West late afternoon without any appointment, hoping to get oil change done, mostly expecting that I will have to take an appointment I went to Honda West late afternoon without any appointment, hoping to get oil change done, mostly expecting that I will have to take an appointment for another day. Was pleasantly surprised when Nadine, the service consultant, said she will do her best to accommodate my request, gently advising me about an appointment. She went to the shop and was back in a couple of minutes to confirm that oil change has been arranged. Nadine added very pleasant personal touch in doing all this. I had some freshly brewed coffee while I waited, which was short. Nadine explained me the oil change etc, that cabin filters need change, the next type of service due. She offered and gave me a complimentary car wash coupon, and if I would like bottle of water. It was an oil change only, however I was made to fee so valued as if I was buying a new car! More

Battery Replacement My Accord's battery suddenly died on me on a Saturday afternoon and the car wouldn't start. I called Honda West and asked them if they could help? Despite it being a Saturday afternoon when they had limited staff and all, they asked me to come in even though I didn't have a scheduled appointment. After repeated tries, I managed to get the car started and took the car in for service. Staff at Honda West took care of the rest. Thank you for accommodating me, and providing excellent service. I was basically called a liar by Service Manager Bob Macrae. Took my car in on an airbag replacement recall. When I picked it up hours later there was a clear gouge mark on the passenger side dash in front of t Took my car in on an airbag replacement recall. When I picked it up hours later there was a clear gouge mark on the passenger side dash in front of the air bag compartment from what appears could have been caused by a screwdriver. I immediately brought it to the attention of the service staff who took a picture of it and told me the Service Manager would be in touch. Bob Macrae called me the following morning and told me that he "disagreed". That it never happened at his shop. He talked to the technician and he said he didn't do it. What did he think the guy would say?? I said the guy wasn't telling the truth and Bob came back with . . . I've known him for years, he's a good guy . . .?? So? Bob said he would not take responsibility, that Honda didn't do it. Now what? How do I get any recourse? My car is damaged. I quit taking my vehicles there for service many years ago after I had my CRV in three times to fix the same front end issue which of course I was charged for each time because it was "slightly" different. The decision to not use Honda West for service was made when on my last visit I was told by Service Consultant Darrell Fujita, "I don't want you to by a new car. I'm in the business of selling maintenance". Really? More
Friendly staff, disappointing management This was my first time with honda west, I have heard nothing but good reviews about them therefore i decided to bring my car in for a recall to have t This was my first time with honda west, I have heard nothing but good reviews about them therefore i decided to bring my car in for a recall to have the passenger side airbag change. Everything went smoothly, professional staff with well organized team and have my car picked up at the end of the day. However, once I got home and I noticed the side curtain airbag cover was all scratched. I immediately called Honda west and left a message in this regards. Did not receive a call back the next day so I call them around noon. The lady on the phone advised me to bring my car in so they can have a look. Got there around 1230, explained the situation to the service Dept staff and he advise me that his manager will be out in a couple minutes. Manager "D" came out, took a look at the side curtain cover, did not say a word, went to the service Dept and grabbed a spray and a towel to start wiping the marks off. He was able to remove some of the scratchs ( black marks) that was sitting on top of the surface, and said god knows what that is then tell me there it's no difference then before then took off. I was left there confused, as I was not satisfied on the results because there are still scratch mark on the cover and it was very rude of him to take off without acknowledging his customer's concern. I stand there for a couple minutes expecting him to come back to let me know if this has been fix or what is even going on, then a service staff approach me and ask if there is anything else that they can help me with. I told him I m not happy with the result so he went back and get his manager "D" again. "D" came out, with the worst attitude and ask: what's is the problem? What else do you want me to do? Also told me that there is also some mark on my driver side cover but they didn't do the change on that side and wanted to take off again. He gave me the worst feeling of implying that I m lying about how they did a lousy job and scratch the cover. I told him not to take off on me this time, I can tell and understand the facts that he dont care as this is not his car, but I do as this is my property and I have to take time off work two days in a roll to have this fix. The attitude I was getting from him was ridiculous, he expect me to tell him what to do? I have to tell him that he is the manager there and he should tell me what he can do, then he finally offer to have someone to have it fix for me, to have someone to "dye" the cover is what I m getting from him, which I m not sure how it works because the surface of the cover is plastic and is scraped off, but we will see how it goes. I will once have to take time off work to drop off my car to have this fix, a one day service ended up with 2 extra unnecessary days with ridiculous customer service from manager "D". Overall I am happy with the service Dept staff as they were helpful and friendly the whole time. However, I am extremely disappointed with the service the manager provided. Over the years we have purchased three Pilots and one CRV (all new) from Honda West... the sales department is actually quite good. But, then when you need service they are hopeless. Countless times they have failed to fix a problem or won't believe you when you describe that there is a problem. Or they give your vehicle back but forgot a part. On one occasion the hood deflector came loose and broke off just days after taking delivery of one of the Pilots. I could offer countless more examples of their incompetence but, suffice to say I will just never go back!! More
